Publisher's summary

Julie Garwood's best-selling novels of the beloved Clayborne family began with this critically acclaimed masterpiece.

The Clayborne brothers were a rough gang of street urchins - until they found an abandoned baby girl in a New York City alley, named her Mary Rose, and headed to Blue Belle, Montana, to raise her to be a lady. They became a family - held together by loyalty and love, if not blood - when suddenly a stranger threatened to tear them apart.

Lord Harrison Stanford MacDonald brandished a six-shooter and a swagger, but he soon proved to be a gentleman to the core. The brothers taught him frontier survival, while Mary Rose touched his heart with a deep and desperate passion. But soon, a shattering secret would challenge everything Mary Rose believed about herself, her life, and her newfound love.

Good one!

Julie Garwood is a good storyteller. The developing plot and characters kept me drawn in. Narrator was great. Really enjoyed it!

Not my favourite, but a good tale.

The story was entertaining, but the narrator was not clear with his accents for each character, especially the English accents!

Worth listening too~~~~

I enjoyed the entire book and the characters but the voice for Mary Rose was terrible! It made me cringe, over all a good story.

have read this several times!

This is a keeper. This author writes re-readable books. so few books are worth reading more than once but several of her books are in my favorite re-reading list.

Magnificent!

“For the Roses” shows more than love between a couple, it includes love for family and friends.
Also, the damage overbearing relatives can inflict on a person and how prejudice can fuel a mob.
Overall, this is a great book. It will be one I will ready again every year or two.
The narrator did an awesome job with the different accents to make this story come alive.
Thank you.

I love this story. Julie Garwood writes the most beautiful historical love stories. Can’t wait to listen to the rest of the stories.

And So It Begins

This fan simply adores all of Julie Garwood's novels. No matter if they are from far in the past or modern day. She pull's me right into the book. I love the way she brings the clan names through time into her present day F.B.I. series. The narration on this particular book was simply wonderful. Mikael Naramore did an excellent job. I swear it was a pure pleasure to listen to him read. This small gang of young boy's, jump right into the heart and stay there all the way through the book. Which sets you up for the following book's.
