"I thought I would really enjoy this book."
Fury of Desire by Coreene Callahan
Granted I liked the email conversions between the two protagonists there was a spark of fun and tension, but its not enough.
I listened through parts one and two almost 7 hours each, but in the end it bored me so much I could not be bothered to listen to the last 2 hours of part three! I was firstly surprised that a book that was reported to be erotica had escaped its niche into main stream publishing. While it promised to give a good dose of sexual suspense what is delivered was so drawn out it put me to sleep. What is sad for devotes of erotica is this is really detrimental to the genre. It could well put off potential future readers!
I read only the first 3 chapters and could not stand the female lead character
Can i get a refund please
I would and have.
Fifty because he comes so far from what he is used to.
Yes there was, the car scene when they are on the way home from fiftys parents house, it shows how far fifty has come and even tho he hasn't said it but how much he actually loves Anna.
I think this book is a great book it has so much more meaning than people think. People think its just a sex book but it isn't.
Very poor read, no story line
Poor book, no story line and not recommended
"Fabulous story ruined by narrator's annoying voice"
No, but that's because the narrator has an overly-young-and-annoying voice. I did not imagine such a voice when I was reading the book.
"Baudy repetitive text with no literary content"
The description of the sexual act were of interest initially but lacking any kind of literary text - I felt I was listening to pornography.
The slow reveal of Christian's issues.
She was able to bring out Anna's character better than I did in my imagination.
Yes. I was enthralled by the romantic connection. I felt lost at the end of the book and was glad I could listen to the next one immediately!
No, I don't think I would ever read another E.L.James novel - and I would avoid Becca Battoe like the freakin plague!! She is an awful narrator!
No - I like the genre, I like reading about other peoples fantasies and getting ideas....
Anyone else. Seriously. Battoe is just an awful reader. It sounded as though she had not prepared at ALL! She made what was supposed to be a sexy character (Christian Grey) sound gay! The breathy sarcastic edge on every sentence he uttered was so off putting!
No. Well, I guess it would depend on the lead characters and whether I were drunk or not.
James is a really bad writer. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because I like the subject matter and the genre but DAMN, she is awful. If I had to hear about the "inner godess" one more time I would puke. The phrase "sphere of reference" is overused to say the least. The entire book was just so juvenile - which is odd because it is an ADULT subject matter.
She is juvenile, puerile, verbose, simple minded and plain boring. I resisted reading this book - although when I had an extra credit on Audible I thought "what the hay". What a waste of hay! There is about 2.6% of really good action/content and 97.4% bad dialogue. It's simplistic, predictable, verbose and trite. Too bad too because her subject matter could have been so much more!
I told my partner it reminds me - seriously - of "See Jane? See Dick? Run Jane Run" sort of dialogue.
"very very good book"
I love the story line Christian Grey wow every woman's dream man
The BDSM story
Christian Grey wow
I really love this book looking forward to listening to the next book
