"Great Pendergast short story, don't use a credit"

Typically convoluted and fascinating Pendergast short story--great for Halloween or around a campfire. Pay the small price, but don't use a credit, as it is so short. But definitely worth getting!

"A chilling short Aloysius - Great"

This is a short teaser before the up coming release of the next Pendergast novel. As always, his stories are chilling. This story is from his childhood and told to Constance in the living room of their house in New York. It is suitably disturbing in the traditional manner. It is worth the hour. Pop open your wallet and pay cash. Thumbs up.

    "Pendergast teaser"

While I hunger for more Agent Pendergast this was a little predictable. The narrator was excellent and the story fair.

Where does Extraction rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best , the anticipation of pain when the teeth are remove can make your heart go cold.

I can't pick any one person ,the book although short leaves you wanting more.

In a small, peaceful town on the Equator, the sun always sets at 6, and a good audiobook is always the perfect evening companion.

    Story
    "Too Short"

This compact, chilling little story of a New Orleans legend turns the tooth fairy into a menacing character who twists the exchange of tooth for coin into a kind of mandatory tribute: hand over the tooth or else. It is a bargain that small children can live with. Older children and adults can foul it up, with dreadful consequences. Some childhood fantasies, perhaps, are best left alone.

With a foreboding, spine-tingling reading, “Extraction” is a finely wrought tale. As short stories go, it may leave just one too many questions unanswered for some listeners. It did for me, but I still enjoyed it immensely.

I'm a father of four and a husband of one. I am a big fan of The Pendergast series by Preston and Child as well as Dan Brown's Robert Langdon books. James Rollins' Sigma Force series is also one that I am always anxious to see. My favorite author of all though is easily Bill Bryson.

    "Shades of Bradburry"
What did you love best about Extraction?

The tone and mood put me in mind of a Halloween story. The narrator does his usual excellent job and the story manages to capture the esscence of Pendergast wonderfully in such an short tale. Fans of the series will not be dissapointed in the least!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Extraction?

When Pendergast and his father enter the old mansion and discover its gruesomeness.

Have you listened to any of Rene Auberjonois’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have heard all of Mr. Auberjonois's narrations of the Pendergast series and in this short story he continues his great work.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Sometimes the Boogyman is real.
