Publisher's summary

Enemies Foreign And Domestic is a domestic terrorism thriller set "in the near future." The story begins on opening day of the NFL season, when bullets begin to rain down upon the upper deck of a packed football stadium. A panic stampede ensues, leading to mass casualties. The alleged sniper is found holding a smoking assault rifle, and is killed by a police marksman.

One week later, Congress bans the private possession of all semi-automatic assault rifles. Gun owners are given one week to turn in their semi-automatic rifles, or face a five year mandatory sentence.

The plot revolves around the true identity of the actual sniper. The alleged sniper killed at the scene may be a patsy, and many Americans refuse to turn in their banned weapons, leading to a civil crisis in the nation between supporters of the 2nd Amendment and a federal government trending toward tyranny.

Worst. Narration. Ever. Very good book though

What did you love best about Enemies Foreign and Domestic?

The story itself is very well written. It's plausible, if not a little far fetched in what the writer believes is within the governments technological grasp. It makes the reader really think about what is going on in America when reading today's headlines. It's realistic in its disappearing freedoms and polarizing views on guns in our nation The characters are well thought out and well developed and if it wasn't for the narrator I'd recommend this to everyone.

Would you be willing to try another one of Mike Kemp’s performances?

No. Never. Anyone that gave Mike Kemp more than one star is not doing prospective listeners any favors. I wish more people were honest about the quality of recording because as an avid reader the book would be much better being read. I can guarantee if you are an avid listener YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED in this one. When I listen to a book I want to hear it as if I'm reading, not as if I'm listening to someone just learning how. Mike doesn't understand (or ignores) punctuation or inflection and and his narration is so monotone he makes the 'dry eyes' guy sound like Richard Simmons. You can't tell who is speaking because thereisnopausebetweenresponses and seems to be at an elementary reading level at best. You can hear pages turning, bullfrogs and crickets in the background and he sounds like he has marbles in his mouth. I fully believe there's a reason that there isn't a listening sample for this recording. It would prevent anyone from downloading it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The book is very good but you can only take the narrator for short periods at best it's so poor quality.

Outstanding book!

This was an outstanding book. I have already purchased book 2 of this trilogy and I'm looking forward to starting it tonight. Well he performed his service dutifully, the audio quality was not the best. It took me a couple of chapters to get used to it, and then it was not a bother at all. Very well done!

Couldn't stand the Narrator

Only listened to about 20 minutes. The narrator was so bad, I couldn't listen to it any longer. He had a very thick Southern accent, and he made many "reading" mistakes. I returned all the books I had purchased narrated by Mike Kemp

horrible reader

HORRIBLE narrator. [edit: getting used to the reader, after several books in the series.]
GREAT BOOK. prescient.
serious topics, well presented, sadly plausible false flag, with full media shaping scripts, designed to drive the final nail in the constitution; to inexoriably push the country into the abyss. the media has been well paid to shape this scenario for several decades.

fiction that serves as a warning.
reasonable progression of events. many other possibilities, but the plot devices and scenarios presented here, cover a wide spectrum of considerations and consequences. some uncomfortable events and situations are explored; for thoughtful reflection, to consider what is likely and what is not.

hopefully, this warning serves to inform thoughtful people; about false flags, and about tyrants who would demand unarmed slaves.

important book.
food for thought.
sadly

I wish I'd read this years ago

I've been trying to read more lately and just can't sit still long enough so it usually takes a long time to get through a book.
so I tried audible books. This was my first audible and I could not stop listening while I worked on projects..
The storyline was great. The ebb and flow was perfect. The characters were believable and the intensity was incredible!
Starting book two today...

Great trilogy! Not to be missed!

Ignore the negative comments about the narrator.. Use your big brain and focus on the tale this trilogy weaves. It's a helluva great ride and scary once you connect the fact of when these were written... and how predictive of what is actually occurring in this country and the world in 2022. While the narration does leave much to be desired, just stick it out, cut him some slack. He has a excellent voice for narration, he seems to just lack in experience and with time and coaching I'd bet he becomes really good. Don't miss this trilogy!
