Publisher's summary

In Tim LaHaye—creator and co-author of the world-renowned Left Behind series—and Craig Parshall’s Edge of Apocalypse unabridged audio download, Joshua Jordan’s new weapons defense system will secure America against an array of new enemies, including a nuclear strike on New York City by North Korea. But global forces are mounting and corrupt government leaders will go to any extreme to prevent an impending economic catastrophe. As world events begin setting the stage for the “end of days” foretold in Revelation, Jordan must weigh the personal price he must pay to save the nation he loves.

Exciting, riveted, and well done!

The LaHaye and Parshall collaboration is incredible! I can clearly see the contribution of each writer. I am a huge fan of Craig Parshall and Tim LaHaye. The story is exciting and jaw dropping. I found myself speaking to the audible book! I also enjoyed the narrator. 👍🏽 I can’t wait to get to the next book.

Another book to make you aware of endtime

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

yes, well written, great suspense, and great subject hidden in the story!

What did you like best about this story?

In this day and time where people act like there is no accountability this brings to focus that there is an accountability that could determine where you spend eternity.

What about Stefan Rudnicki’s performance did you like?

Made it possible to get lost in the characters and the story.

Born again? You'll probably love it.

I wish I had checked the author before buying ... the story is pretty good, but for me, the religiosity - and a very born again religiosity which I personally don't find interesting or attractive, detracted. I'm guessing I bought this in one of those "first books in series" sales and I won't be buying any more. I loved Stefan Rudnicki's narration as usual. It was good enough I listened to the whole thing; it has to be pretty awful for me to stop mid-way through, but the born again stuff ... and the view of politics ... made me cringe too often to really enjoy.

This isn't your typical Christian novel

This book was authored by the writers of the left behind series. Don't let that fool you though, this isn't a sermon disguised by action packed wrapping paper.

This book is fast paced and entertaining. Yes they talk about god, yes they pray. But let's be honest, most of us in these types of situations would be calling out to a higher power so don't fault the characters for that.

When I first started listening to this book the narrator's voices threw me off a bit. It's deep, really deep. It has a distinction to it that I wasn't sure would translate to other character voices well. But I was wrong. It takes a little warm up time but eventually the narrator finds his groove and I was very clearly able to distinguish the different characters. Also, his accent for Russian and middle eastern characters, along with those from Brooklyn is flawless. Job well done!

There is a lot a action in this book, immediately from the start. There's no warm up, get to know you period for the characters. You see these characters in their most vulnerable and it's refreshing. I like that my opinion of the characters is crafted from their reaction to certain events rather than their backstory.

This is part of a series so the ending is a cliffhanger. But that only made me more excited to listen to the next book.

Give this book a chance. Don't let the Christianity part stop you from enjoying a really great story!

Edge of Apocaloypse

The books I have listened to from Tim Lahaye has been so close to the actions of today news and I like the books. I learn from them and enjoy the fiction story!

Didn't Grab Me

I read some of the other reviews and I have to say that I have no problem with the "religious" side of the book because I know the authors are both evangelical Christians with a pretrib worldview.

With that said, I was disappointed about the quality of this book. I have been a fan of Craig Parshall's novels since his first book The Resurrection File, which I still think, is by far, one of his best books. I have never been a fan of Tim LaHaye and haven't read one single book of his in the Left Behind series. The reason is I figure if everyone thinks they are so great, most likely I won't like it, and generally I'm right.

Out of the 109 books I have here in my Audible acct I don't think I have ten that are fiction, so to actually purchase a novel is something I don't do often, and in this case, i bought this because of Craig Parshall, not La Haye.

I do like the style of writing and I think the story was good, but it was just missing something. I wasn't crazy about the narrators voice, that could be part of it, but I've heard Craig do other chapters of narration before on his books, and he would be an awful narrator if he had to read the book.

With that said, I will buy the next book they put out, which is due out in June 11 (I believe) and it's called Thunder of Heaven. Maybe it will be better... I hope. I have all of Parshall's books and believe that sometimes quality begins to lack especially after an author has been in the limelight awhile and is known.

And since this book was not remotely close to a run away best seller, we'll see what happens with the next book. I pray it's better.

Excellent book!

Unpredictable plot and excellent character development, especially with the villain. Narration was also very good. What a voice!
