The beginning of the legend

Here we are first introduced to Count Dracula the basis of all the vampire movies including the slayer series. I've never read the book before and I read it on the Kindle and then listened to it. Here we meet Dracula and listen to his plans. For all these plans he ultimately failed because like so many before and after him which is be careful of whom you scorn. If Dracula had learned this then maybe he would have survived. Here we get the basis of the whole Dracula tale that will endure and be changed over and over, however here is the point of origin and for all vampire fans this is a must read.

This is fantastic!

I listen to this about once a year. First heard it on XM Radio on Book Radio channel and had to have a copy for my own. The story is a classic, of course, but the narrator really brings it to life. You will be glad to own this one!

Best single performance

This is the best single overall performance. The narrator, Robert Whitfield, was the best overall narrator of all the versions of Dracula I've listened to. He does the accents for each character excellently. My personal favorite was Van Helsing. If you are looking for a version of Dracula narrated by a single narrator, I highly recommend this one.

one too many vampires

while this was a master piece 50 years ago, it lost it charm. For me it was Jane Austin meets Sookie Stackhouse, too little action with too much story.
