Loved every second of it. It’s hard to say anything negative about such a classic.

This was a brilliant story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The fact reader too was really good and kept to an even pace that made listening a pleasure.

Noir classic

The source for a classic film, this short novel holds up well. Excellent narration !

I just love this old noir film. I found this highly rated film a very good version in the narrated audible book.

Excellent narration.

The narration was crisp and perfect for the story. The various character’s voices were appropriate and not overdone.

Another Classic

Cain is always good. And this is deservedly a noir classic. Like Postman, excellent and a lot accomplished in a short novel. Many writers could learn from his lean style.

Love it but kind of drag on. The movie was better

Got a little crazy in the end. Keys is too principled to make that deal.

Listened to it twice

I enjoyed this thoroughly. I watch the movie at least a dozen times. One of my favorite film noir films. I also didn’t mind the different ending. The first time I listened to it I wasn’t really sure if I liked the different ending.

Complicated, thorough and surprising.

Classic, I was referred to by a fan, that did not disappoint. The narration was excellent adding an atmosphere that made the story that much more involving and enjoyable.
