"Cash's good ole gals always get their man, and deliver big laughs in the process ... Quickwitted, fast paced, and plain old fun, Cash's madcap series just keeps getting better." (Booklist)
This book was a bit silly, the theme of humor was the contrast of country Texans in NYC. Kinda like Thelma and Louise meets the Beverly Hillbillies meets the Hardy Boys. The plot had long slow built up, but for me it was worth hanging in there…toward the climax, I couldn't put it down…or, uh…whatever the audio equivalent is. Great narration!
This was probably the cutest, funniest, most engaging, fun book I've listened to in a very long time. I found myself laughing out loud over and over.. folks in the cars next to me at red lights, etc thought I had lost it...
I could not stop laughing while listening to this book. I didn't want it to end. I know there is another one out as I went on Lone Star Audio to check. I sure hope Audible gets this one and real soon.
Please don't stop writing.
I loved listening to this audio book, since the narrator has a genuine sounding Texas twang, just the accent I grew up with and hear every day. These two gals really do a bang-up job solving a mystery.
This story couldn't have much less depth but the performance turns it into a fun listen for one of those times when you don't want to have to think or analyze. It's definitely a girl's story. It's uplifting and makes you laugh.
I wouldn't take the time to write a review, but I really don't understand how this audiobook got so many good reviews. This story reads like a moment by moment walk through of two texas girls and their trip to the big New York. The book is very simplistic, so it got boring very quickly. The only reason I listened through the whole book was that I had paid for the audiobook.
This was a great beach read. Predictable but entertaining. Narrator did a good job with the voices.
Is is really necessary to use foul language? Not everyone wants to hears those words. I liked the characters, but won't be listening to or reading another in the series.
I am going to recommend this book to friends and family because I enjoyed it so much.
Edwina. Because she is a true, loyal friend. She was funny and smart, but flawed.
She got the Texas accent right and read the lines in a way that made the characters seem real.
Yes! I hated to turn it off.
I am going to look for more books by this author. I haven't enjoyed a book this much since my last Evonovich book.
The reader was very good with a fairly authentic accent, made for a good listen.
Sometimes we need an uncomplicated book, one that is just fun and this one fits the bill. A good listen, I enjoyed it.
