With each step I eased down a hallway filled with grand arches. A swanky red carpet led to the meeting area, where men waited for their dates. We exited the undressing room as if we were at a Hollywood premiere.
New York Times best-selling author Eric Jerome Dickey returns to a character he created in his celebrated novel of erotic daring, Pleasure. Four years have passed in the life of Nia Simone Bijou, and she is approaching the height of her artistic powers. A film she has written is poised for international success, the studio is eager for a sequel, and the media are fascinated by her work. Yet her imaginative mind is wandering.
Though Nia is much desired - by the mysterious, often unavailable international businessman Prada, with whom she enjoys unprecedented attraction; by the fit local veteran, Brett, who puts her through her paces, most often during grueling road training sessions - her first love, Chris, is never far from her thoughts. When Nia receives an invitation to the exclusive pleasure palace known as Decadence, her romantic world gives way to an abundance of sensory experience she could never have imagined.
Even as the Hollywood premiere of her potentially career-changing film approaches, she is drawn further into this forbidden lifestyle. Under the influence of glamorous, sensuous new friends, Nia abandons all caution, and her ability to balance truth and fantasy becomes increasingly blurred. Will her relationship with Prada survive countless temptations? Will her professional achievements be given over to impulsive indulgence? Does decadence know any bounds?
Eric Jerome Dickey’s newest tale of excess - and its sky-high costs - is a thrilling portrait of a glittering world.

Simply complicated. I like a little fiction in my life to break it all up. No time to read anymore so now I listen to my books.
I don't know if better for everyone, but it was the best for me. I listened in the house, in the car, listened while at work. I hated to go to sleep and yelled at my kids to stop talking during the day.
Pleasure, and the ebook Nia Simone.
I laughed at the parts intended to be funny.
I loved that this book gave closure to all the stories that were left unfinished. Eric Jerome Dickey is amazing. I've read reviews that complained he used too many words. OMG! If you enjoy an intelligent read then the words are the point. The more details the better, I haven't visited the places he writes about but I feel like I have ( no pun intended). I enjoy the details of all his books, and I loved this story too. Now I no longer wonder what happend?
Yes i would
yes i would
Love Eric read EVERY book he's ever written. For some reason this book seemed a little over the top with the sex. like its competing with 50 shades. i preferred the suspense and the mystery of pleasure. i'll still buy his books though, he's awesome.
It was a sexcapade book...no real story...just straight sex!
It won't be anything by EJD if this is his new direction.
All of them!
I've listened and read all of EJD books and am very disappointed with Decadence. If I wanted a story full of porn, I would have gone to a different type of site. Even if someone was sexually active, to the point of having it as an addiction, one wouldn't have an encounter every min of their lives.... Hopefully the next book will have a plot (like the Gideon series).
If it has a plot (or whatever you would call it in this book), no.
Tell us about yourself!
Way too much sex in this book. It could have had a little more story line. I love erotica but this was a little difficult to finish. Sorry I love EJD but this one did not do it for me.
I wanted to read this one because I'd read Pleasure previously. This one was a miss for me. I normally listen to a book within a couple of days. This one took months for me to have the desire to complete. The only reason I did so was to see if the ending was significant. It was not.
The book was full of sex, sex, sex and unnecessary vocabulary. Don't get me wrong, I'm a reader, but I'd consider this book as being a collection of the “smut ”(no offence to any of the great authors out there who I enjoy) that I enjoy regularly. No need for Mr. Dickey to use all of the vocabulary that he knows in this kind of book. Furthermore, the book lacked a significant meaning.
Would I consider reading more of Dickey's works? Of course. Would I read another book that features Nia Simone Bijou? Maybe.... This one sort of left me asking questions. Nia seemed to be searching for something and is left empty in this one.
Not if it was like this one, it was totally tasteless.
If you are into listening to smut without a story line, this is it. This book had no rhythm or reason! The story teller had the same tone throughout the book and the words used for sexual parts made it even worse.
Not worth my points!
MJD is one of my favorite authors but not this one. Time to give up on this story line. Susan Spain did her best with it. Can't fault her.
Too much of it. If you read Pleasure, you know what I am talking about.
It you don't like...change it!
I always wonder what happen to Nia after reading EJD first book of her Preasure. And just when you think it can't get no freakier.....EJD brings her back and she still wild as every. But you have to read the first book to fully understand what I mean.
Nia of course....because she is who she is....you either love her or hate her.
