Brilliant, fun, inspirational, epic!

Great job again, Chris! Are you single? Please write a sequel to this epic novel! Vampire clans can do SO much good in the world with Jody as their high priestess and Tommy as her bitch. Keep up the great work and thank you for everything you do and everything you are 😊❤️💜💚😉🙏👍🏼

So-so vampire story

Perhaps it was my inability to get onside with any of the major characters and as a result I found the story flat and not very interesting.

I thought the book just okay.

Still great fun. Triggering to modern PC

I shared listening to this when it was nearly new and lots of LOL moments and a great shared experience. Relistened and read the negative reviews and it makes sense how humor is now expressed a little differently but moreso how we’ve been taught to be offended by the mere mention of certain stereotypes and motives.
It’s sad that modern media or society has taught us that what we see or hear must be filtered for offense before we can find the humor in human foibles.
Offensivity is not a virtue, it implies judgementalism which is also not a desirable trait. Dear listeners, you have at least my permission to laugh without restraint.

A hilarious yet good story

So funny! You would expect something this funny to have no depth, but…..the characters are full and relatable. Listened to it and the subsequent stories more than twice. Well worth a credit.

A Novel For the Not So Classic Vampire Fan!

I absolutely love Christopher Moore! He is my unsung literary hero and I feindishly gobble up every novel he has ever written and unpatiently await his next work of genious! Blood Sucking Fiends is the first of (so far) three Vampire novels staring Jodi & Tommy, your not so ordinary vampire couple. These novels are sexy, funny and encompass Moore's unending talent for bringing interesting characters that grow and develop and change as each story takes its turns and twists. I highly recommend this one for those of you who love the art of sarcasm and wit.

MUST listen! LOL! Vamp series set in San Francisco

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolute recommendation! The characters are funny, endearing, crazy, and believable. The city of San Francisco is a character in the book itself and is a perfect backdrop for this great quirky and unusual vampire love story. The narrator Susan Bennett is one of the best I have ever listened to! She makes every single character come to life. You can see the city and the characters because of her narration!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Christopher Moore has created such a great cast of well developed and loveable characters, it is hard to pick just one character as my favorite. I choose Jody because she has to go through the most physical and emotion changes. That's all I will say.

Have you listened to any of Susan Bennett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listen to Susan Bennett's recordings for Christopher Moore before I read Bloodsucking Fiends. This one is just as good as those were! Those performances are what made me read this one.

If you could take any character from Bloodsucking Fiends out to dinner, who would it be and why?

The Animals seem like they would be a crazy bunch of guys to just sit and watch and laugh at!

Any additional comments?

Read the next two books in the series!!! They get even better with the addition of Abby Normal and a few more new characters to the series.

These Vampires Don't Sparkle

I adore Christopher Moore. His humor cracks me up. I mean, who else can get away with a Penthouse Letters intro in a chapter and keep it believable? This is the first book in what is - as of last week - a trilogy. I read the second one first and then came back to this one when I realized it existed.

Moore's interpretation of the spiritual realm on Earth and afterlife constantly amaze me. He takes mythical and religious concepts and infuses them with humor and emotion. That's a pretty amazing feat. Tommy's and Jody's journey through a fledgling relationship as each deals with the other's insecurities lends an air of credibility to what would sometimes seem like incredulous events.

Susan Bennett does a terrific job with the narration, and each character is easily discernable. I wish she did more books!
