Ursis nodded soberly out the Hyperscreens toward the merchant ships, then turned to Brim. "Out there, Wilf Ansor," he brooded, "are real heroes of war. To fight from behind disruptors of warship is something anyone can do. One can always count on lucky shooting to save him from disaster, or heavy armor plate at least. But to face enemy with only black void and thin sheet of hullmetal separating you from disruptors, and then stay in formation, that is kind of bravery we Sodeskayans record in Great Books."

Michael J. Sullivan garnered critical raves and a massive readership for his Riyria Revelations series. The first book in his highly anticipated Riyria Chronicles series of prequels, The Crown Tower brings together warrior Hadrian Blackwater with thieving assassin Royce Melborn. The two form a less-than-friendly pairing, but the quest before them has a rare prize indeed, and if they can breach the supposedly impregnable walls of the Crown Tower, their names will be legend.

Story
The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

While an ugly war with its neighbouring realm continues to rage, the insulated members of Ruritania’s upper class laugh and dance their way through their superficial lives. Some people, increasingly disillusioned by the pointless conflict, start to consider how the king might be persuaded - or forced - to end it. Meanwhile, an increasing number of items of great value are going missing from those attending these high society gatherings. At whom will the finger of suspicion point? Who can be trusted?

Story
Winner of an Obie and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, and directed by Tony nominee Leigh Silverman, Yellow Face is as timely as ever, wrestling with issues of cultural appropriation, complicity, and artistic freedom. It’s brought to life in this audio-only revival by a stunning all-star cast (many playing themselves) led by Daniel Dae Kim.

Story
Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson. Before they were household names, these budding legends called Sue’s Nashville apartment—lovingly dubbed the “Boar’s Nest”—home. Sue’s place was an intimate staging ground where a new breed of singer-songwriters—wounded souls, wayward upstarts—would spur each other on to tap into something bigger, realer.

In the heart of the South Pacific lies Point Nemo, the most desolate and remote place on Earth. At its core is a dead zone, devoid of life, where government agencies crash their obsolete satellites and space stations, confident they won't harm a soul. When the International Space Station suffers a catastrophic failure and plummets through the atmosphere, it's here that Mission Specialist Julie Rohr, an astrobiologist studying living space dust called xylem, finds herself marooned. Julie's only hope for rescue lies in the hands of her estranged father, Dr. Finn Maddern, a renowned mycologist.

The reason I found Audible.com!
I really really liked this story! I heard a few chapters on XM Books and had to track down the rest of the story. Unfortunately, many of the performers were stiff and rough around the edges, but don't let it detract from the story. Levi would have been a Sackett in a Louis L'Amour book! When I wikipedia'd Dan MacGregor, I learned that Levi Rankin story was supposed to be a Trilogy, however the author died after finishing the 2nd book, which was never published. Man, that is too bad, because I would love to get to know these characters better! I think I have listened to this book three times!

Adventures of Young Turnover of the Century Marine
The story covered the historically accurate fictitious adventures of a young Marine 1898 through 1901. It covered his his participation in the Spanish American War, the Philippine "insurrection", and the Boxer Rebellion. The action sequences were gripping. The story was well written and narrated. Actors were employed to voice the parts of some of the characters. This contributed to the enjoyment of the story in most cases, except in the combat sequences, where they did not reflect the voices of young men who were under severe stress. All-in-all, the audiobook book was very enjoyable to listen to.

Blood and Iron
Abridged or Unabridged I loved it. Bring on the next five in the series. If you have ever been a Marine you will like it for the glimpse into life when the Corps was young. I am not sure I like the dramatization as much as narration, but I loved the story. Usually I listen to Audible on my daily commute on the "L", but this one had me listening in my kitchen. You won't be disappointed

Great story.
I haven't listened to a production better than this in years. The book is well written and the acting and voices enhance an already good book. I will be watching for another book or production from this author.
