Publisher's summary

Fleeing assailants through alleyways in Denver late one night, Thomas Hunter narrowly escapes to the roof of an industrial building. Then a silent bullet from the night clips his head and his world goes black. When he awakes, he finds himself in an entirely different reality, a green forest that seems more real than where he was. Every time he tries to sleep, he wakes up in the other world, and soon he truly no longer knows which reality is real. Slowly he realizes that each reality dramatically impacts the other. In each world unspeakable evil is unleashed and millions of lives hang in the balance. The fate of two worlds depends on the actions of one man: Thomas Hunter.

Great story, narration not as good

The narrator had a good voice, but he spoke so quickly and with no breaks between sentences that I quickly lost who was speaking during a kind dialogue segment.
I love the story, though. fascinating premise.

Slightly biased opinion.

I read the Circle in high school, when the large collective book was given to me as a gift from my parents. My brother was also gifted the book and we competed to see who could finish it first. At that time it was difficult for me to stay engaged with the story. Listening to it this time around I struggled to pause it. Listening to it on the way to and from work, at work, during the day, while I slept, replaying it once. The story engulfed my world for 6 days, and I'm anxious to begin RED(book 2)! The Narrator is not quite what I expected and I would have preferred another. That aside, the story of GREEN is all together enthralling and the description of New Earth is enchanting! When the main character, Thomas Hunter, swam in the lake with Ellion I wished such a thing was physically possible. The question posed to Tom by the "boy" on the cliff above the gathering made me think of God in an entirely different way. Ted Dekker has many books but this series is by far my favorite!

Incredible All Around

I loved this book so much! The performance was incredible, having a very clear voice, much vocal inflection, and consistent and different voices for different characters. Dekker does an incredible job with the book as well! This was a really captivating, thrilling, surprising, and well-written book!

Great Series

I listened to "Green" first and am now on the last book of the series. I am enjoying the books so much I am having a hard time getting other things done. Ron Lamont's narration keeps things exciting and moving along. This is the first books I've read from Ted Dekker and have add other of his books to my Wish List.

I would suggest you listen to the samples of the other books before purchasing them.

Fascinating story, terrible reading

Would you try another book from Ted Dekker and/or Rob Lamont?

I read

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The book is harmed by the narrator.

There is no characterization -- the voice is constant with nothing to distinguish characters.

It's read like one giant run-on sentence. Pauses aren't where they should be, with different thoughts mashed together confusing the meaning...and then pauses put where they don't belong breaking up a single thought into two parts further confusing it.

Did the reader change part way through the book? The volume and timbre of the narrator changes during the book. It's a hack job in the recording studio.

I first listened to

Do you think Black needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I would love to have this available by the same narrator that did

Narrator

I love the story. I've read the entire series twice before. I decided to hear it this time, but this narrator is killing me. He is HORRIBLE!!!
