Publisher's summary

Fleeing assailants through alleyways in Denver late one night, Thomas Hunter narrowly escapes to the roof of an industrial building. Then a silent bullet from the night clips his head and his world goes black. When he awakes, he finds himself in an entirely different reality, a green forest that seems more real than where he was. Every time he tries to sleep, he wakes up in the other world, and soon he truly no longer knows which reality is real. Slowly he realizes that each reality dramatically impacts the other. In each world unspeakable evil is unleashed and millions of lives hang in the balance. The fate of two worlds depends on the actions of one man: Thomas Hunter.

Great story!

The story took some getting used to with the split realities but it was interesting after you've listened for a couple chapters.

Parallel realities, a fantastic concept well done

This book "Black", is the first of many I read by Ted Dekker. He's got a real nac for alternate realities like no other author. Intriguing story line snagged me from the get-go, so I had to listen to the next two books in this 3 book series. I highly recommend Ted Dekker for his orginality in unusual yet highly interesting story telling. Refreshing, new, and wonderful.

Suspenseful and interesting

Great narration! The voices were terrific and pretty consistent throughout the entire book.

Thomas Hunter is an interesting character. The story is challenging to follow at first, but pieces start to come together here and there.

My favorite parts are where he describes Thomas' times with Elyon. It made me long to be that close to God! The way he talks about the Colored Forest and the people makes it seem quite wonderful without feeling sappy.

I can't wait to read the next book, as this one ends on a cliffhanger.

Black, Red and White

This book was awesome. It did't flow into Red very well but Red flowed into White wonderfully. When I was done with all three I listened to them again... I was left wanting more. Ted Dekker is a great writer and I look forward to every new novel he writes. Bravo!!!!

Just ok

Didn't finish because it got cheesier by the minute. Like the author and general premise and the fact that it's Christian fiction is part of why I bought it, as Dekker is respected in both the secular and faith based genres. But this one was not for me.
