Story
In July 1890, Vincent van Gogh went into a cornfield and shot himself. Or did he? Why would an artist at the height of his creative powers attempt to take his life... and then walk a mile to a doctor's house for help? Who was the crooked little "color man" Vincent had claimed was stalking him across France? And why had the painter recently become deathly afraid of a certain shade of blue? These are just a few of the questions confronting Vincent's friends who vow to discover the truth of van Gogh's untimely death.

Verily, the story Biff has to tell is a miraculous one, filled with remarkable journeys, magic, healings, kung fu, corpse reanimations, demons, and hot babes. Even the considerable wiles and devotion of the Savior's pal may not be enough to divert Joshua from his tragic destiny. But there's no one who loves Josh more (except maybe "Maggie," Mary of Magdalan) and Biff isn't about to let his extraordinary pal suffer and ascend without a fight.

You touched the book. You're in the game. You're under the eye. The only defense is knowledge. You need to read this book, to the end. Even the part with the bratwurst. Why?

Publisher's summary
"The city of San Francisco is being stalked by a huge, shaved vampyre cat named Chet, and only I, Abby Normal, emergency backup mistress of the Greater Bay Area night, and my manga-haired love monkey, Foo Dog, stand between the ravenous monster and a bloody massacre of the general public. Whoa. And this is a love story? Yup.
"‘Cept there’s no whining. See, while some lovers were born to run, Jody and Tommy were born to bite. Well, reborn, that is, now that they're vampires. Good thing theirs is an undying love, since their Goth Girl Friday, Abby Normal, imprisoned them in a bronze statue. Abby wants to be a blood sucking fiend, too, but right now she’s really busy with other stuff, like breaking in a pair of red vinyl thigh-high Skankenstein® platform boots and wrangling her Ph.D.-candidate boyfriend, Steve (the love monkey). And then there’s that vampire cat Chet, who’s getting bigger and smarter—and thirstier—by the minute. Abby thought she and Steve could handle the kitty cat on their own, mais non."
Before you can say “OMG! WTF?” Tommy and Jody are sprung from captivity, and join forces with Abby, Steve, the frozen-turkey-bowling Safeway crew, the Emperor of San Francisco and his trusty dogs Lazarus and Bummer, Abby’s gay Goth friend Jared, and SF’s finest Cavuto and Rivera to hunt big cat and save the city. And that’s when the fun really begins.

Abusive husbands, child molesters, and other lowlifes wound up looking like they'd been mauled by a dog...or a wolf. Now Sam's a low-rent PI in Philadelphia. He takes the kinds of cases no one wants. His clients are usually on the fringes of society. The kind who are prey for all manner of predators - human and otherwise.

Story
My name's Quinn. If you buy into my reputation, I'm the most notorious demon hunter in New England. But rumors of my badassery have been slightly exaggerated. Instead of having kung-fu skills and a closet full of medieval weapons, I'm an ex-junkie with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time. Or the right place at the wrong time. Or…whatever. Wanted for crimes against inhumanity I (mostly) didn't commit, I was nearly a midnight snack for a werewolf until I was "saved" by a vampire calling itself the Bride of Quiet.

The living dead are more alive than ever! Zombies have become more than an iconic monster for the 21st century: They are now a phenomenon constantly revealing as much about ourselves - and our fascination with death, resurrection, and survival - as our love for the supernatural or post-apocalyptic speculation. Our most imaginative literary minds have been devoured by these incredible creatures and produced exciting, insightful, and unflinching new works of zombie fiction.

Cats, Rats & Vampires.
The final addition was wet your pants funny. This book was more from Abby’s POV, which I loved in the last book, so it worked. I love Abby’s tail part; very vivid imagination and I couldn’t stop laughing. I’m not the biggest fan of the ending, but it makes since as to why it ended that way, so I can live with it. Narrator is great she really makes Abby come to life.

Brilliantly read and entertaining
In Christopher Moore style you get an outrageous and laugh out loud book. The narration of this book is absolutely incredible, in fact the best I've ever heard for an audio book! Susan Bennett delivers a range of character voices that are distinct and absolutely believable from the valley girl to the Rasta man all read with exactly the kind of humour and pace the book required. Very enjoyable.

Funny, Sweet and Whatnot
What made the experience of listening to Bite Me the most enjoyable?
Susan Bennett's storytelling is amazing. She captures a huge variety of characters, their accents, behavior and mannerisms. This was also my favorite of the trilogy; all of the characters are fully developed and completed in this final book of the series.
What other book might you compare Bite Me to and why?
Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck, the prior two books in the trilogy. They are all obviously in the same style and follow many of the same characters. Though I enjoyed them all, Bite Me was the funniest and most interesting.
I did not especially like Abby Normal in You Suck, but found her much funnier and more nuanced/interesting in Bite Me.
What about Susan Bennett’s performance did you like?
All of it. She is the most talented narrator I have heard so far and is a great match for Christopher Moore's writing. She also did an amazing job voicing Marvin, Bummer and Lazarus, the three dogs who appear in the story. Moore's "translations" of dogspeak were hilarious and Susan Bennett brought them to canine life.
If you could take any character from Bite Me out to dinner, who would it be and why?
The Emperor! As a native San Franciscan, I grew up with stories of the actual Emperor Norton and I loved that this character appeared in the trilogy.

HILARIOUS!!!
What made the experience of listening to Bite Me the most enjoyable?
I was actually peeing myself! What a wonderful character Abby Normal was. I loved everything about all the characters.
What did you like best about this story?
The spontaneous speeches of Abby.
What does Susan Bennett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I don't think I would have really enjoyed the book without Susan. She is tremendously talented! Susan? You ARE Abby. lol
If you could take any character from Bite Me out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Abby of course. And her stripy socks.
Any additional comments?
