Publisher's summary

The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Umm....

I fell in love with the story and the characters. The story slowly developed and I love it.... then it began to drag on forever and became very cliche and tired. By the end I struggled to get through... I guess this is a start to a series... I won't be finishing it!

Don't just a book by the reviews

I must admit I always read the reviews before reading a book. However this is a really good book. Travis is a controlling college kid who fights to pay his rent. If you don't like crazy, possessive, controlling guys this book is not for you. Personally, I like the book and I have recommended it to my book club.

Love Pigeon and Travs!!!

Books that you re-read or re-listen and make you go into the same deep angst, pain and love as the first time you read it. This is my case with Beautiful Disaster. I read this book years ago and it became one of my favorite college romances to date. After multiple re reads and now a listen it still is a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 to me.

I listen to the audiobook of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire this past week and I felt it all as deep as the first time I read it. The pain, anger, love and passion between Abby “ Pigeon” Abernathy and Travis “Mad Dog” Maddox was INTENSE. I mean I wanted to smack them together for been so damn stubborn sometimes. Then I wanted to hug them both every time they made poppy eyes to each other and were inseparable, everything was great in the world.

They fought a lot but most of that fighting was denying their feelings. Trying to hide all that love that was indescribable, all consuming. The first love is the most intense and this two felt it from the very first encounter. College romance at it finest.

Travis with his bad boy swagger, gorgeous and with a hot temper. That temper came in handy with his underground fighting. He had all the woman he wanted, money and respect. It took one look and the brunette with pink cardigan to turn his world upside down. She was what he never thought he wanted it but once she was there nobody else excited. I mean he live for Abby. He was possessive and makes some mistakes but everything was to take care of Abby. Don’t get me wrong he infuriated me at some points but then he does this wonderful things for her that make me swoon and fall in love again.

Abby was a brilliant young college student. Gorgeous, polite, quite but she was hiding something from everyone except her childhood best friend, America. There some situations in her past that are driving her behavior now. That won’t make Travis disinterested one bit and they soon discovered that they are a perfect match.

This book it’s full of drama, passion, action and love. I will be listening to this audiobook many, many times over.

Sooo...

I'm not usually overly critical on books, but this one has some yucky messaging for young girls. It was pretty much a volatile obsession story. These kids are 19 and when you are young relationships can get pretty intense but this was just silly- there were just so many red flags regarding relationships that I wouldn't want my daughter reading this and thinking a relationship like this would ever be ok. I'm all about reading all kind of ridiculousness so for a 30 something adult to read this it was just fine but for a late teen to read it that fantasizes about her dream relationship I would hope she wouldn't read this and think that this kind of love story is ok in real life.
