Publisher's summary

From nationally best-selling author Rebecca Hagan Lee comes a romance set in England during the 1790s. The Earl of Weymouth insists his son marry before going off to fight the French. Lady Tressingham insists her daughter marry as soon as possible as well. The children, however, are very resistant to the institution of marriage. But they do wed as a matter of convenience. When Griffen returns from war, though, he's a different man than before, and he hopes he can prove his love to Alyssa, the woman he left when she was barely a bride.

Narrator Virginia Leishman's tangy performance is perfect for this intimate and steamy tale. Lee's story abut the triumph of love will entertain and delight.

"This tightly written novel is well-crafted and has strong characters....As always, Lee touches the right chords in her readers." (Romantic Times)

Sadly you can hear the pages turning; otherwise, this is a great listen and an enjoyable story.

Loved this story

I really love this book. I don't like the sex, I could do without a blow by blow account of that. I'm not into porn but I do love the romancing of characters to find them in the end truly in love.

Wonderful Love Story!

If you love Pride and Prejudice, you will love Barely a Bride. It is a wonderful 19th century romance that will keep your attention from start to finish. Be forewarned that there are many racy sexual parts, with almost nothing left for the imagination! I found myself at times having to manually close my mouth, or look around to make sure no one else heard what I was listening to. I would describe this book as Pride and Prejudice with lots of sex! Have fun!

Slow slow slow

Slower than molasses. And I am a bit tired of the Napoleon Wars PTSD trope in regency novels.

Pathetic

Worse excuse for the same sex scenes repeated endlessly with very little story.

Very unpleasant narration

The narrator destroyed this story. Throughout the story you can hear her breaths and lots of unpleasant mouth sounds. It was as though the narrator was eating and drinking while reading. The sound editing is inexisting! Why has this not been corrected? The story may have been good and promising but the constant saliva sounds made it imposible for me to enjoy it. Not recommended!
