Publisher's summary

First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes...a baby carriage? Isn’t that what all women want? Not so for Claudia Parr. And just as she gives up on finding a man who feels the same way, she meets warm, wonderful Ben. Things seem too good to be true when they fall in love and agree to buck tradition with a satisfying, child-free marriage. Then the unexpected occurs: one of them has a change of heart. One of them wants children after all.

This is the witty, heartfelt story about what happens to the perfect couple when they suddenly want different things. It’s about feeling that your life is set and then realizing that nothing is as you thought it was - and that there is no possible compromise. It’s about deciding what is most important in life, and taking chances to get it. But most of all, it’s about the things we will do - and won’t do - for love.

Good Read!

This book was exactly the type of book I was looking for and right on par with her other novels. I would definitely read this book again.

Loved it!

I enjoyed the story very much. I wish that the ending would have given a more longer term finish? But I liked the story anyway

Claudia is a refreshing character!

I really enjoyed the fact that the main character was definite on her child free position. This is so refreshing. I surprisingly enjoyed this book and that may be the reason why. It was very real... very life-like. Not a traditional chick-lit, more melancholy. Being 30 years old, I am encompassing all the scenarios in this book, it really hit home. Glad I listened to it! Not sure about the ending, but overall... a good read!

Should be a series!!

I loved it . The story needs a second book.
The voice actress is perfect! Don’t listen to all the weird reviews.

Excellent

The Best title that i have ever come across. You have to go through the entire title over and then admire the title.

Not my favorite, but still very good

I chose this book because I read "Something Borrowed" and liked the idea of the plot because I was in a similar situation to the main character. The book was good and brought up a few points about conflicting child-having views that I had never thought about before.

Least fav of all her books, but still ok.

Story was just not as good as her others, but it is not something you want to skip over.

Love.

I love all of Emily Giffin's books. So glad they are on audible. My only confusion is that the audible book cover says it is narrated by Cynthia Nixon- but the book starts and ends by telling you it was narrated by someone else? Although the girl reading it sounded like Cynthia Nixon? Who knows. Get the book anyway. :)

Baby Proof" feels like chick-lit-with-bite.

It's quite a brave topic to tackle - women who don't want children. In this day and age, I think it's almost the last taboo. But it is the topic that author Emily Giffin addresses in "Baby Proof".

Knowing that the story would focus on this issue, I worried it would end up being black and white with a watered down and easily digestible ending but Emily Giffin kept to her usual high standard as I read my way through a messy, emotional, complicated and realistic story.

Despite such a sensitive and emotive topic, there were plenty of lighter moment "Baby Proof" feels like chick-lit-with-bite. It's simply more than humourous fluff. Enjoyable and recommended.

Another Great Book

Would you consider the audio edition of Baby Proof to be better than the print version?

Emily Griffin once again writes a great story that tugs at the heart strings. The story is both sad and hopeful at the same time. I cannot imagine how many people in the US alone have been in the same predicament.

Any additional comments?

A Great Read and Cynthia Nixon makes it even better.
