Love was the last thing on Kyle Stader's mind. He'd found and lost that once and he wasn't about to ever let himself feel that kind of hurt again. So, when Liz Redgate shows up in Cotton Creek, he might find himself interested, but it darn sure isn't going to go anywhere except maybe the bedroom.
Liz is an enigma. A woman who can handle a thoroughbred race horse better than half a dozen experienced jockeys, and one who is keeping secrets. Like why that thoroughbred horse won't run for anyone but her. Those secrets may make her more appealing but also make her dangerous.
Unfortunately, Kyle's no novice to danger, and is a sucker for a mystery. Things are about to get interesting again in Cotton Creek.

This series is a diamond in the rough if you enjoy a cowboy story with good drama. I didn't read the first two books in this series and I'm sure you don't have to because this was a complete book. It is a engaging story with a bit of mystery thrown in.
J. Scott Bennett did a great job narrating. He has that "cowboy" voice that is perfect for this series.
Oh, and for the readers who want to know....there are some sexual encounters and adult language.

As a huge animal lover, and married to ex-rancher, I was drawn to this story as it not only shows a passion for horses, but was full of drama, some suspense, and the adorable attraction between Kyle and Liz. Overall a surprising well written story, with a intriguing plot that moved at a steady pace.
J Scott Bennett voice and narration was a good fit for this Western story.

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. The story is well written in a series for more backstory of other characters, or as a stand-alone. I enjoyed the twists and turns, mystery/suspense content and characters and their world so much that I purchased/pre-ordered the 5 & 6th ebooks in the series and can't wait for the same narrator to perform the correlating audiobooks. Each story has a pinch of supernatural elements that brings a unique touch to these romantic cowboy stories. There are cross-over characters from other series that I am now interested in reading/listening to their stories for more insight to their back stories. The stories are well written and the narrator did an awesome job bringing the characters and stories to life. I highly recommend this series and encourage looking into the other series by this author.
Top 20, I love this series, I love everything about it. Unique storylines and great characters, what isn't there to like really
How Kyle and Liz could once again find happiness, and each other
J. Scott brings this whole series to life for me, I can`t imagine anyone else narrating this series after listen to the 3rd book, can`t wait to get stuck into book 4
Cody, bless her big mouth and heart she has stayed with me through the whole series

The series continues with shy and handsome Kyle meeting potential jockey Liz. Conflict in story was a little weak but Ciana did a good job of making it believable. I also enjoyed seeing more characters being introduced which could hopefully produce more books in series. looking forward to next in line. Narration is great.
Really enjoyed this story.
Who doesn't love a cowboy.
Family drama, horses, romance, suspense, overbearing fathers, an independent woman and a sexy cowboy all combined into a well written, entertaining and enjoyable story with a HEA.
While this is the 3rd book in the series it is a stand alone book.
The story revolves around the cut throat business of horse training and racing.
Kyle Stader the confirmed bachelor and horse trainer. Liz Redgate a horse trainer and jockey determined to live life on her own terms not her fathers.
Love how they all banded together to beat their fathers at their own game.
J Scott Bennett did a great job with the narration. He has the perfect male voice for this type of story. Slight country twang just made the narration better. I plan on going back and listening to the rest of the books in this series and it's just a bonus that he narrates all of them.
This is the first Ciana Stone book that I have read/listened to, I will definitely be listening to more of her books.

The world of oil barons and race horses is the backdrop for this novel by Cianna Stone and is the third book in her Honky Tonk Angels series. Liz Quinlan Redgate is on the run from her oil baron father in South Dakota, with a secret, and her horse, Traveler. Searching for the magnificent horse her father had bought, promised her she could jockey and then reneged on the deal and sold to his life-long rival, Wes Pursell when the jockey he had hired in place of Liz could not control the horse or make him run. Landing will run for Liz, and only for Liz. She is determined to land the job of jockey from Wes and prove to her father that he is wrong, about her and about Landing, by winning the Derby.
Kyle Stadler is a local legend. A handsome cowboy known as a horse whisperer, and the trainer for Wes Purcell, and Landing. Kyle has a secret of his own that he keeps locked away. Never speaking of it to anyone and never allowing himself to ‘feel’ anything for any woman. Until he meets Liz Redgate when she comes to Cotton Creek to apply for the position of Jockey for Wes Pursell. He is immediately infatuated and intrigued by her.
This story is full of well-written, rich characters, each with their own unique backstory woven seamlessly into Liz and Kyle’s world. They are multi-dimensional, fascinating people that capture your interest from their first appearances in the story. This is not just a romance, there are plenty of surprises and mystery to satisfy almost any reader.
I have to say, also, that J. Scott Bennett has grown on me as the narrator for this series, injecting an honest, western feel to the characters. I highly recommend this audiobook.
This series continues on with Joe our Angel! This time, we encounter Kyle Stader, training race horses on the Purcell ranch. Along comes Liz Redgate, the only person who can seem to tame the wild "Kings Landing". No one knows that she is really the horse's original owner and trainer. Liz is trying to get out from under her father's thumb, following her dreams of being Landing's jockey and winning with him. Of course, the Purcell's and Liz's family have a long competitive history both in racing and business. Kyle and Liz have instant chemistry, and finally come to the realization that they cannot live without each other.
The children of these families, (Liz, her brother Cooper and Wes Purcell) band together, and we learn how really far Liz's dad will go to win. Joe remains the ultimate, elusive man of the day! Ciana Stone has another winner!
J Scott Bennett continues to bring this story to life for me. I love his voice with this western series, perfect pace and fits the storyline.

I like to read! When I do other things (ie: driving, laundry, cooking) I feel like I should be reading. Hence why I love audio books.
This is book three of a series called Honky Tonk Angels. I didn’t know the name of the series (or maybe I just forgot) but I think that is an important thing to know when going into this book. I did not read the first two books. I will admit that it went totally against my OCD to read it out of sequence. The good news is that I survived this and that I enjoyed the book.
I enjoyed the intrigue in this story. It kept me guessing. I suspected all kinds of things as I was listening but I was always wrong. There was definitely an event in the story that I did not see coming.
The narrator did a wonderful job and I enjoyed him a lot. I thought his voice was perfect for a southern guy who owns a ranch. I’ve never actually met a cowboy but in my head, that’s what a cowboy sounds like.
Also, I loved the horses. I’m a sucker for animals. I especially like the scene where she’s dancing with the horse *sigh*.
