Enjoyed this trilogy enormously!

I bought this solely from the reviews, and was not disappointed. I downloaded all three in the trilogy. Solid writing, great research of the area and times, and was a wonderful listen!

Disappointing

Too much preaching as always. However, the story of this book is not as interesting as the prior two. Seems the author was just run out of imagination. Too heavy handed for the story, and the characters just dies or survived or being punished any time as needed. The eternal goal of everything is just for everybody to believe in God, whatever happened to them was served to this purpose only.

Atretes story

As Sure as the Dawn is the third book in the 'Mark of the Lion' series. Readers are introduced to Atretes in the first 2 books. He's taken captive and brought to Rome to be a gladiator. Over the course of the books, he gains his freedom but loses so much in the process.

Julia -from the first 2 books - has his child and in book 3 we learn the baby is alive (he thought the child had died). The baby was thrown away like trash except he was saved by Hadassah and given to a widowed Christian woman who had lost her own baby.

The battle between Atretes and Rizpuh keeps the story moving forward. Rizpuh's love for Caleb (Atretes's baby) is endearing but she has the battle of convincing Atretes that she's trustworthy.

This book is Atretes's journey to finding Christ and believing he is worthy of forgiveness even though he has lived a life of sin. Rizpuh is one of the many people put in his life to plant the seed that he is a child of God. Rizpuh's life becomes the catalyst to what finally gets Atretes to believe in God. But like all Christians even AFTER you are a follower you still falter because no human is perfect. Atretes learns he must always be seeking the true God.

True power

The story line is great, narration on point, and character alive. May the grace of the lord be with whomever reads these books. The patterns of life are real for some if open to the revelation. I feel Jesus is Alive in these books. He was for me anyway. Thank you!

too explicit

This could be a very gripping series, giving insight into Roman and other sinful gods. in this volume, there is a detailed overview of the Bible as a whole, including the gospel being presented. However, too much detail is given which seems to be aimed at sexual arousal and detracts from what otherwise could be a wonderful God honoring series.

The Gospel being shared

I like the development of each character. It felt real and I could relate to the stories being told.
