Publisher's summary
“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—whenever the sons of God went in to the daughters of men, who bore to them children. They were the mighty men of antiquity, men of renown.” — Genesis 6:4
Few sections of the Bible have been as controversial and misunderstood as Genesis 6:1–4. Who were the Nephilim? Were they giants? And who were the sons of God? Fallen angels, godly men, or wicked tyrants?
Wild speculations and sensational claims abound, generating more questions than answers. Regrettably, this misinformation leads many to adopt conspiracy theories while others either avoid the topic altogether or believe there is no hope of discerning the meaning of these verses.
Fallen is the answer. This detailed and easy-to-follow book represents the most comprehensive treatment of the Nephilim and the sons of God. Carefully and thoroughly researched, Fallen examines the biblical and historical data to clear up the confusion.
Join researcher Tim Chaffey as he…
- Analyzes the three major views of the sons of God
- Reveals the truth about the divine council
- Addresses what Jesus said about these matters
- Investigates the biblical teaching about giants
- Explores similar records from ancient cultures
Readers of Fallen will discover its relevance to modern issues and importance in the biblical narrative. Genesis 6:1–4 will no longer be a mystery.

Story
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

Without the Resurrection, there is no hope. We would still be in our sins, and the Christian faith could not exist. Jesus would be a fraud since He frequently predicted His own Resurrection, even designating it as His sign for an unbelieving world. Skeptics and critics understand the magnitude of the Resurrection, and they have developed numerous theories in their desperate attempts to explain away the wealth of evidence. The Epistle of James is one of the most challenging letters in the New Testament. Written by the half-brother of Jesus, the Apostle James pulls no punches as he encouraged the believer to practice what he preaches. James writes with gut-level reality, and here’s why: while many of the New Testament epistles deliver what we are to believe, James declares how we should behave. In this practical volume, Stephen expounds on the truths of James and clarifies the theme of this powerful letter: our faith must be lived out!

The story of Noah is one of the most captivating in all the Bible. Yet most people remember it mainly as a children's story found in picture books and heard in Sunday school classes. But this tragedy really took place - and widely overlooked is Jesus' stunning prophecy that the final days of planet Earth would be just as it was in the days of Noah. His point? That there would be striking parallels between Noah's day and the end times - with warnings of God's imminent judgment upon the world.

Jesus Christ is coming back. It is certainly a Christian's greatest hope during these difficult times. The Bible warns us that the last days will be tumultuous - wars and rumors of wars will spread (Matthew 24:6). In our age, the world seems to be spinning out of control, creating fear, confusion, and uncertainty. In addition to violence, pestilence, and epidemics, the Bible predicts a great "falling away" from God in the end times. Bible teachers call that "the great apostasy".

Story
While our culture is effectively abandoning any remaining vestiges of biblical authority, the Church unashamedly delivers truth and hope. How is the Christian—and the local church—supposed to operate, grow, serve, and live out the Gospel? We need not guess at the answers. An inspired letter from the first century to a young pastor addressed them all . . . and the answers haven’t changed.

Story
The history of early Christianity is shrouded in mystery. Jesus and his early followers were Jewish, but most Jews and Christians know little of the origins of either. Since the third and fourth centuries CE, Judaism and Christianity have crystallized to the point of apparent distinction so much to obscure shared history and even theology. Consequently, people legitimately ask what connections could Judaism and Christianity have. A variety of textual discoveries including the Dead Sea Scrolls, however, has brought about a renewed interest in the subject of early Christianity in its Jewish ...

Rigorous
I appreciate how this book methodically addresses this topic. Dr Chaffey takes care to represent the major opposing views on the topic in a fair way. I also appreciate the many citations and clear indications when he is speculating.
This is my first time listening to a “virtual voice” title and overall it wasn’t as bad as I expected it might be. There are mispronounced words here and there and the AI struggles with abbreviations and citation shorthand but it is understandable and listenable.

Very thorough
I initially heard the author on Prophecy Watchers With Gary Stearman. I like how he examined the various views.

Thankful that this book is available in audio form!
While - for multiple reasons - I prefer listening to a book recorded by a human voice (especially, by the author or by anyone with warm and cultured London accent). I also prefer a real voice because real people need real work!
Notwithstanding, I am exceedingly GRATEFUL that this title, along with "Old Earth Creationism on Trial," is available on Audible! These are very important topics that few seem willing to even broach.
And yes, the use of the virtual voice translation meant there were mispronounced words. But if one is familiar with the Bible, one will know exactly what is intended. That there were mispronounced words was not an obstacle for me.
Personally, the fact that this book is available as an audiobook by far overshadows the irregularities of the verbal errors made by the virtual translation process.
This is one of those books that I purchased in both audio and in paper form.
