Publisher's summary

“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—whenever the sons of God went in to the daughters of men, who bore to them children. They were the mighty men of antiquity, men of renown.” — Genesis 6:4

Few sections of the Bible have been as controversial and misunderstood as Genesis 6:1–4. Who were the Nephilim? Were they giants? And who were the sons of God? Fallen angels, godly men, or wicked tyrants?

Wild speculations and sensational claims abound, generating more questions than answers. Regrettably, this misinformation leads many to adopt conspiracy theories while others either avoid the topic altogether or believe there is no hope of discerning the meaning of these verses.

Fallen is the answer. This detailed and easy-to-follow book represents the most comprehensive treatment of the Nephilim and the sons of God. Carefully and thoroughly researched, Fallen examines the biblical and historical data to clear up the confusion.

Join researcher Tim Chaffey as he…

  • Analyzes the three major views of the sons of God
  • Reveals the truth about the divine council
  • Addresses what Jesus said about these matters
  • Investigates the biblical teaching about giants
  • Explores similar records from ancient cultures

Readers of Fallen will discover its relevance to modern issues and importance in the biblical narrative. Genesis 6:1–4 will no longer be a mystery.

Rigorous

I appreciate how this book methodically addresses this topic. Dr Chaffey takes care to represent the major opposing views on the topic in a fair way. I also appreciate the many citations and clear indications when he is speculating.

This is my first time listening to a “virtual voice” title and overall it wasn’t as bad as I expected it might be. There are mispronounced words here and there and the AI struggles with abbreviations and citation shorthand but it is understandable and listenable.

Very thorough

I initially heard the author on Prophecy Watchers With Gary Stearman. I like how he examined the various views.

Thankful that this book is available in audio form!

While - for multiple reasons - I prefer listening to a book recorded by a human voice (especially, by the author or by anyone with warm and cultured London accent). I also prefer a real voice because real people need real work!

Notwithstanding, I am exceedingly GRATEFUL that this title, along with "Old Earth Creationism on Trial," is available on Audible! These are very important topics that few seem willing to even broach.

And yes, the use of the virtual voice translation meant there were mispronounced words. But if one is familiar with the Bible, one will know exactly what is intended. That there were mispronounced words was not an obstacle for me.

Personally, the fact that this book is available as an audiobook by far overshadows the irregularities of the verbal errors made by the virtual translation process.

This is one of those books that I purchased in both audio and in paper form.
