Publisher's summary

Christmas is around the corner, and all Evie Holmes wants is a nice, sincere, honest guy to spend the holidays with.

Andrew Summerfield seems like the perfect boyfriend, until Evie discovers he is only after her bakery and beautiful turn-of-the-century home. When she ends their relationship, he stubbornly refuses to take no for an answer.

When her friend suggests Evie adopt a pet, she finds herself wanting to adopt a dog and a sexy veterinarian.

Nick Tucker has a killer smile, a heart of gold, and loves her Chocolate Kiss cookies. Can a Saint Bernard named Brewster and a passionate veterinarian bring the holiday spirit back into Evie’s life in time for Christmas?

So Sweet!

Sharon Kleve once again gives us a heartwarming romance with endearing characters…she never disappoints. Evie is having a difficult time dealing with the loss of her parents and the unwanted attention from her greedy, cheating ex-boyfriend. Her friend suggests that she adopt a pet and her life is never the same. She meets Nick, a sexy veterinarian, when she goes to look for a pet and they hit it off instantly. She also meets Brewster, a slobbery but lovable Saint Bernard mix, who needs some TLC. I thought Jeffery A. Hering did a pretty good job with the narration. His female voices were weak however he had a pleasant voice and a great voice for the hero. Oh and I am definitely going to try baking Evie’s Chocolate Kiss Cookies…thanks for the recipe!

Terrible choice for narrator

Who had the bright idea to have a male narrator read a romance told from a female first-person perspective? He's not a bad narrator, but was the wrong choice for this story. I made a mediocre story significantly worse.

Horrible narration..

It was alright. If you like instant, instant love, which I suppose is okay. BUT, I sure couldn't have handled that dog. As much as I like dogs, I have one of my own, I could not put up with all that slobbering, not in my house and car. And that was mentioned over and over again.

Evie and Nick was nice but it needed more to the story to make it better. And less slobbering.

As to the narration: The worst narration EVER. He was definitely NOT the narrator for this book.
