Publisher's summary

This popular and best-selling book from a renowned Franciscan challenges people to move beyond the comfort of a settled life toward an understanding of themselves that is rooted in their connection to God. Only when they rest in God can they find the certainty and the freedom to become all that they can be. Contemplation has its place at the heart of Christianity, a place that allows people to experience how “everything belongs”.

Now THIS is Good News

Dying to self, while perfectly natural and necessary, is a Truth that I fought and ignored the first 55 years of my life. Rohr helps me see how Christ engineered this regardless of my ignorance and hiding. Thank you, Richard.

Transformative

A beautiful guide to help one see. The words are cathartic and encouraged the rebirth of my spirit in the love of the Lord.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

How much have we missed because we are not able to live in the now. We let ourselves be “straight-jacketed” into silly and arcane traditions. If we learn to live in the NOW, we will learn to see how everything fits together; how everything belongs. There were so many times I went “wow” and had my eyes opened to totally new ways of looking at the message that Jesus brought to earth. Jesus never wrote a book; never held any office; didn’t have a bank account; didn’t have an office and yet was totally free to pursue His Father’s work. The book He wrote was His living example of the greatest sacrifice for all of mankind.

Perhaps his best

When I was first introduced to Rohr and his writings, I was very critical. Since then I have gone through my own deconstruction ( I spent thirty years in vocational ministry. ) I now find his writings very refreshing. Until you’re there, you won’t understand, but once you are there his writings will be a breath of fresh air.

Openness and Clairity

Richard explores the contemplative way of existence. This opens the possibilities of Christ for everyone. Especially in the ti.e we live right now.

Finally Reading

I first heard about Richard Rohr years ago when a recovery program was saving my life a day @ a time. This was the perfect book at the perfect time, finishing today. There's a depth of real affirming wisdom mixed with a tiny bit of ignorant social comment . im taking the depth of good.
