Publisher's summary

A world of endless possibilities consumed by a recurring conflict!

After both his parents and grandfather were killed by bandits, Jack sets out on the path to revenge. To achieve his revenge he'll need power, power that only the Adventurers Guild can offer.

To join the guild he'll need to pass a test, he'll have to complete the Beginners Trial Dungeon in order to advance and receive his starting class. The beginners dungeon is home to many perils, and there's a saying that only one in 100 people who enter the dungeon survive its trials. Elsewhere and west of the Lich King's city lies the mountain range known as Cordoth. Adventurers often travel from the city to do battle throughout Cordoth's many underground levels. The strong prosper while the weak are consumed by Cordoth's inhabitants.

For a time Eric prospered, as did his team, but shortly after arriving on Cordoth's third level, tragedy struck, and Eric died...almost. Reborn as a flesh Golem, Eric is forced to start from scratch—all of his training, all of his hard work, gone. Eric is faced with a choice: retire to his vineyard or seek his resurgence. He does a little of both, but resurgence is not so easily achieved, especially when strange events are occurring within Cordoth. A new power is rising, shrouded in mystery, it remains for the most part undetected, but Eric has his suspicions.

Eric is not alone in his quest for power: He is joined by a brother and sister with a disastrous track record, an alchemist who brews potions from the blood of his enemies, and an imp banished from hell. Plans are set in motion beyond Eric's control—the Treacherous God has an agenda, an agenda that requires the freeing of Doom, and the protection of a young Elementalist. This book contains The Elementalist, Book 1: Darkfire, The Elementalist, Book 2: Doom, and A Flesh Golem’s Tale of Resurgence.

A lot of fun!

Loved this book! No overly annoying characters. No preachy messages, just a thrilling story!
The comedic moments were on point and the dramatic moments landed excellently. Great story and fun characters. Can’t wait for the next installment!

An Epic Adventure!

I finished this audiobook in two days because it was just so engaging that I couldn’t stop listening! Of the three stories contained in this book I can say that the third was definitely my favorite, though the first two were also quite well written.

The third story has the perfect combination of comedy and emotion. The characters are quite unique and very interesting.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and would thoroughly recommend it!

Returned

This is another bandwagon LitRPG, that doesn't really understand LitRPG. Let me be clear this might be great for some people, but those who have listened to Defiance of the Fall, The Primal Hunter or Infinite Realm will see the difference. This guy entered the world and joined the dark, but then whenever he needs to kill people who are trying to kill him, he has a problem with it. He complains about having to kill people after he entered a tournament that is to the death. Like seriously, why even bother then, he also gets a skill that is used for torture but complains about it and this was where I stopped. This is a big fat return.
