Story a little silly, but a few hot moments

The story line was very thin, it tried to have some suspense but it just didn't keep you on the edge or anything. The author repeats characters feelings/ideas/thoughts WAY TOO much! Come on, we get the picture don't keep beating the horse dead.

I'm not really sure what the primary storyline was supposed to be, finding her stalker or her sexual awakening as a submissive. Nevertheless, there the writer could write some hot scenes, so that helped me get through the thin story line.

Spicy Cajun Story

I usually hate cajun accents on books tapes but I really thought Lexi Maynard did a nice job on this.

The story was fairly involved and of course with Shayla - the sex was hot. Interesting enough I really liked Deke in this book but really didn't like him in Book 2.

Great start to a series that I have high hopes for.

What does Lexi Maynard bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is excellent and able to give each character their own "voice" - accents and all.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Almost good book

The characters (both main and supporting) were interesting, the dialogue was snappy, and the plot could have been interesting & suspenseful. Both the writer and narrator are extremely talented. I tried to ignore the dom/sub stuff, which wasn't hard core, but I got bored with the emphasis on "toys and play". I kept wondering if Jack & Morgan could actually enjoy sex if stranded on deserted island without ropes, clamps, etc.

Definitely predictable, but sensual and enjoyable!

It was totally obvious what would cause the major conflict between the Hero and Heroine, right from the start. So you have the angst of that through most of the book. I hate that particular kind of angst. However, the rest
Of the love affair was so sensual and the mystery that they are trying to solve is intriguing, so it distracted me from the angst.
This book has very explicit sex, including a MMF ménage, so if that’s not your thing, skip this series. There is also a D/s relationship but it does not take place in or around a sex club.
There is a message that I believe the author is trying to convey, “ we are all individuals with different needs and likes, that includes your sexual proclivities. As long as the sex is between consenting adults, no ones desires are wrong or sick. Everyone has the right to choose their individual definition of normal.” That is pretty wordy but, I think you get the point.
The narration was pretty darn good. The narrator even did a pretty good Cajun accent.
I also liked the fact that this book was longer than the common 6-8hr novel. In my opinion, as long as the writing is good, the longer the better. I would have been willing to spend a credit for this book, but double bonus, it’s included in the romance package so I can spend my credit on another book.

Wicked Ties

Listened to this in 2013 but since I didn’t remember any of the stories thought I would do a relisten.
Also I guess I didn’t review them either so this is the perfect time to do that too.
Morgan is coming to terms with who and what she wants in her personal life. She has a stalker and is seeking safety with her step brother but he is leaving and she finds herself in Jack’s sights. He is kind of the perfect person for her to be with at this time because he is a bodyguard but he is he-l –l bent on revenge against her step brother. Unfortunately Morgan is oblivious.
I enjoyed most of the book the one part that I was like scratching my head was the “missionary vanilla stuff” it felt like it was all a show. Like he can’t speak she can’t speak while having missionary I think it was a little manipulative on Jack’s part. And when Morgan finally opens up about what she wants he also freaks out and makes her feel bad for having her wants. So I wasn’t a big fan of Jacks there.

The ending was great. I liked the narration but I really think these books would be way better with a male’s voice maybe Duet or Dual narration.

I’m a sucker for a good audio book. This one caught my attention and wouldn’t let go until I was done. I didn’t love the narrator but the story line was so good I over looked it

Best depth of tcharacters

Best read yet. Excellent characters and compelling story to go with super hot sexy scenes.

Enjoyable! I really liked it.

I enjoyed this story. The characters were well done and the plot kept me listening. I wasn't exactly on the edge of my seat, but definitely engaged. The narrator performed very well although her voice was very slow paced and I was able to up my speed to 1.30 without it sounding rushed at all so that took care of that. Would have liked a make narrator for the parts where he was speaking instead of all female but it didn't bother me much either, she did it justice. All in all, a good read.

Can't wait to read the rest of the series!
Action, Romance and Suspense...couldn't ask for better combination.
