This book is amazingly hot....and naughty....and hot....and well read...and hot....and suspensful...and hot. Did I mention it was hot? Not like jalepeno pepper hot.....like Vindaloo curry hot.

There is an art to talking dirty...and Jack Cole has it down to a science.....

Wow! Where's The Batteries Needed Warning?

I was going through Fifty Shades withdrawal, no new books from authors I know I love and cherish, so I was just searching through recommendations on My Listener Page when I read a few reviews for this series. Finding a good erotica book that has a story to it and is well written is hard to do so I was half way expecting to be returning the book.

I must say that I will NOT be returning and in fact have turned around and bought the second book in the series as soon as the first one finished playing! I am hooked and I do hope there are more books in the series coming along.

Being as I came to listen to the book with no real expectations, I can not tell you how pleased I am that I listened to the recommendations of others.... not something that I usually do since most of the books I've come to love get very mixed reviews.

I won't give away anything of the story other than to say that if you are going through Fifty Shades of Withdrawal, this book will heat you up and more than cure any withdrawal symptoms you may be facing! I know it MORE than worked for me!

It was nice to listen too but even me who loved 50 Shades of Gray and other similar books was a little surprised about all the detailed sex scenes. Dont give me wrong i love to hear about those details too BUT not 80% of the book and 20% storyline!

This book is the best erotic thriller that I have heard - more erotic that thriller but great book non-the-less. It is intensely erotic.

Not one of my favorites

The narrator was good. I like to hear distinctly different character voices and live when their able to pull you into a story. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the story, I found Morgan and Jack annoying, often. Submission from a complete stranger didn't seem far fetched from my point of view, so the constant pushing from Jack was a bit much. Morgan was annoying even if her apprehension in facing her sexuality was understandable. I loved Deek though.

Way to ruin the moment

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Eh. I had wanted to read something with serious hotness in it, and while this book did eventually deliver on that score, you have to wade through a LOT of angst from the main character, which is both boring to listen to and a mood killer. It was basically like Twilight but with sex.

If you’ve listened to books by Shayla Black before, how does this one compare?

This was my first book by her, and it may be my last. Since these books are for grown-ups, treat the readers as such and don't spend so much time trying to convince us through the main character that the DS lifestyle is ok. Girl, if we're reading these books, we don't need convincing. Just tell the story already!

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

I guess. Since I found a lot of scenes drawn out by unnecessary inner dialogue, it's hard for me to say whether the narrator dragged things out, or if she was just doing a faithful job of telling the story.

Did Wicked Ties inspire you to do anything?

Yeah, I wish it had been that good.

This book could have been SO good if so much time hadn't been spent discussing why kinky sex is ok. I really wish the author had skipped the scaredy cat routine and just gone for it. Every time the action started to get good, the author dumped a preverbial bucket of cold water on you by having the girl waffle about her actions. This is an adult erotic novel, not a YA romance. Knock it off already!

Couldn't listen fast enough

Wicked Ties was a great story that kept me involved in the characters. The writing is SO hot! I have read a few other books in this category, but this one was the hottest. Although I did enjoy the story and didn't find it too cheesy, there were a couple things that I found annoying, which is why the story only received 4 stars instead of 5. But, they were minor in the whole realm of things. If you want a steamy book that you can get lost in, you will not be disappointed.

I read the ebook years ago and was pleased to find it on Audible. I’m not crazy about the narrator. She’s terrible at male voices. However the story is still hot as hell. *lots of fire emojis*

What made the experience of listening to Wicked Ties the most enjoyable?

Shayla Black's books are always a treat to open and escape into and the Wicked Lovers series is a personal favorite. Wicked Ties is not only the first in this series but the one that started me on a journey of discovery perusing Ms Black's works. The writing is tight, brilliantly executed, knowledgeable and beautifully crafted. Her characters are smart, sublime, human, emotional, real and wonderfully memorable. I'm a huge fan!

Sexy.. Hot..Clenching goodness

This was a good book! I only wanted the a couple of things to move along a little faster, but I’m not a very patient person when I want something to happen, lol! ;)Wink, Wink! Really the story was good the sex scenes were heated and well worth any waiting! And the narrator was good:) Looking forward to book two!
