Good but not great

Some of the stories leave you wanting more, while others have you wishing they would end sooner. Overall, it kept my interest and certainly gave me some food for thought!

If you have nothing else to listen to, this may be a-ok book to listen to. It's not a great erotic book, but something ok. Easy to listen to.

Loved it ! It was very steamy ! Hard not to well 😉 when you read a hot story and imagine it was you in the story ! Go ahead and add it to your library for when you’re in that frisky mood and let your imagination wander!

What about Rose Caraway’s performance did you like?

As always, she never lets me down. I have heard some people read and it was just ridiculous. But my favorite sexy librarian has the perfect voice for this hot erotica.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did want to, I couldn't though. And one story I listened to more than once (the one with the stranger int he elevator...holy cow! I died)

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Big Book of Orgasms?

All of the stories were hot and memorable. But my favorite was "Hard Knocks" that involves some very sexy spanking scenes.

Have you listened to any of Rose Caraway’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have heard several of her performances. All of them are great. This one is no different. Rose is the perfect narrator for these types of stories. She has a very sexy voice and pulls you into the story. She is fantastic at being very sexy and believable without overdoing it like so many other narrators do with erotic stories.

Any additional comments?

Rachel Kramer Bussel has once again selected amazing authors for this anthology. Whatever you are into this book probably has it. I love the format of this book,The stories are long enough to be good and short enough to leave the rest up to the imagination. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. Well worth the purchase or use of a credit. So many good stories you will want to revisit. And definitely a fun book to share with a partner

As good as it gets

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. The stories are quite short, so it's really a collection of tiny, satisfying morsels. If one doesn't suit your taste, guaranteed a different one will. It's a really nice, fun introduction to erotica for those less familiar with the genre. For established fans of the genre, the collection is a really nice catch-all - established authors, new authors, lesbian, gay, straight, trans, vanilla, kink - there's a little bit of everything in there!

What other book might you compare The Big Book of Orgasms to and why?

I'd probably compare it to any other book edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel, particularly for Cleis Press. As always, the attention to quality and detail is pretty much second to none. I'd say that if you liked Gotta Have It: 69 Stories of Sudden Sex, you'll like The Big Book of Orgasms.

What does Rose Caraway bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Rose Caraway has a polished playfulness that worked on two levels. The first is that her voice is distinctive, so it provides a sort of through-line by connecting the stories as a whole. The second is that, as distinctive as Ms. Caraway's voice is, she's also really adaptable. The stories vary from silly to serious, and she successfully captured the tone of each, teasing out what made each individual story sexy or touching.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I liked drawing it out 2-3 stories at a time. It made my workouts fly by.

Any additional comments?

For the sake of full disclosure, I should say that I have a story in the collection, (credited under my pseudonym). I was excited and nervous when I heard that they were going to make an audiobook version, and I have to say that the results exceeded my most hopeful hopes. This is a collection that I'm proud to have a tiny part in, regardless of the format.

Orgasms of all kinds

What did you love best about The Big Book of Orgasms?

I liked that even though orgasms are often part of erotica, these stories brought something a little different to the topic. They each offer a little taste of what motivates someone to get off, whether by themselves or with a partner, and each were totally different.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked that these were varied, from movie theaters to outdoors to malls to steam rooms to bedrooms, as well as varied in terms of sexual orientations and sometimes multiple partners.

What does Rose Caraway bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I listened to all of them, and I imagine if I was reading I may have skipped a few but she made me want to keep listening and I'm so glad I did. I discovered a few gems that surprised me at how much I liked them, especially the ones about spanking and BDSM.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I wouldn't have thought I'd like Icing on the Cake but I did, very much. I want to seek out more of the author's work and more femdom stories, though I like that there are vanilla and softer stories in the mix throughout the book too.

Arousing, fun, inspiring

Who was your favorite character and why?

The women in Steamy and Blue Jean Baby because they knew what they wanted and didn't need someone else to get it. That is a very attractive quality to me and I like women who know how to pleasure themselves. Jeans have never seemed so sexy to me and don't get me started on imagining my wife at the spa after hearing Steamy.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked Squirt because it was about something you don't hear that much about and it was believable, about a couple trying something new they aren't sure is going to work.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked the urgency of Chains of Love and the male sub narrator. It's not always my thing but in this case it worked.
