All Zach Sheridan ever wanted was to become alpha male of his Pack and be left alone. What he definitely didn't need in his life was some needy female demanding his attention. What he never saw coming was the vicious, scarred female who not only demanded his attention but knew exactly how to get it.
Sara Morrighan knew that this was the best she could expect from her life: good friends, a nice place to live, and a safe job. But when Zach rode into her small Texas town with his motorcycle club, Sara knew that she wanted more. She knew that she wanted him.
But after one sexy encounter with her dream biker, everything is starting to change. Her body. Her strength. That new thing she's doing with the snarling. Even her best friends are starting to wonder what's going on with her. This is only the beginning, though. Sara's about to find out that her life was meant for so much more, and Zach's about to find true love with the one woman who makes him absolutely insane.

"Hot as a Texas summer, the first of the Amethyst Inferno line sizzles with humor, seduces with words and will leave the reader screaming to read her second book, Go Fetch!" (RT Book Reviews)
I have been waiting for this book to come out on audible for a couple of years now. Great story. Good plot. Awesome character development. Hot romantic moments. A couple fight scenes too. A great story about removing and obstacle to allow for a life to bloom in the manner it was meant to be to begin with. Laurenston's characters are always highly entertaining and this book met that goal. The narrator did a fine job and gave each character their unique voice/accent.
Finally! I love all of Laurenston's books but was so thrilled to see she's finally doing her early books in audio. I was a bit disappointed that Charlotte Kane didn't narrate these as well and, while, this narrator doesn't meet Kane's ability as far as 'voices', she's still good enough that it's an enjoyable listen. Definitely would recommend.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
What can you really say bad about Shelly Laurenston.... Absolutely Nothing!!! Her stories are funny, enthralling, and smexy as heck!!!
This book was pretty much the same format as her PRIDE series, gyrl and guy who don't belong together are perfect for each other because they are both equally crazy!!! Perfection... it was so good... Also... if you have read/listen to the PRIDE series, you will remember the name Magnus Pack... So... now we get to see the pack that one of the PRIDE wolves grew up in....
I loved the ending... so good.. well I loved the whole dang book... Great job Audible for finally picking this series up... On to "Go Fetch"!!!
Maggie, Maggie, Maggie!!! He's on the list!!!
Great Narration... Kasha was so good...
Great buy, sale or credit...
Listening to books has changed my life! I now look forward (well, sort of) to my hour-long commute.
Plot was boring. Characters not developed. Not enough background "color" to get you invested in the characters.
Great start to a series. Pack Challenge is a very good stand alone book, but it's a great introduction to the Magnus Pack series. The antics of the friends who have bonded from childhood to adulthood are crazy funny. Their stories on my re-visit often list.

Okay, so I did have to listen to this more than once so I didn't miss anything, but it was well worth the time! Shelly is great at writing characters that are flawed, but have you cheering them on. I get that some of the dialogue was rough, but that's the way some people are. (Both of my husbands had trouble with what passes for terms of endearment in my family! Luckily for me, the second one has learned to understand some of these and to tease me with them.) I digress. My rating system tends to reflect whether I'll listen to a book more than once so the 5 stars should say it all!
It's raw- obviously her early work- but the story line is great and the narration is well delivered. I enjoyed it and think it's worth the credit. I read the book years ago and was happy to see that we will be getting the Magnus series on audio. I'll definitely buy them all.
That beauty is more than skin deep, loyalty and integrity tells more about who you are than what you wear.
I love Angela- the accent, the elegance and the danger just hidden under the surface. :)
Shelly has been writing for years now- I'm sure it seems longer to her than it does to her fans. We can't help but act like the Shaw brothers at a bar-b-que, roaring for more! I'm just glad that the powers that be have given us something else to listen to while we are waiting for our next Crow or Dragon fix. Much appreciated!
