TONS of stories, eight of them total I think, and I liked all of them, some more than others. The sex in this is hot (I've read Selena Kitt before, so I knew that was coming - ha ha) but the stories are great modern twists on traditional fairy tales. Very creative. Every story has a happy ending (shouldn't all fairy tales?) and Selena does a great job putting it all together. The narration is great, easy to listen to, not distracting from the stories. I would highly recommend this!
I love to read. I love all genres but romance in particular. The hotter and steamy and sexier book is the more I want to read it.
the stories are not just porn from the get go, but that the sex is hot and the story have some heart to them.
the story I liked best was Alice, but they others were also very good,
it was a book I want to listing in one sitting I could not. but I did listen to each story in one sitting.
I love the short story format, and Selena Kitt has great story teller. I will definitely read more of her work.
Some fairy tales hard to relate to old ones. Story lines pretty well done. Audio very low, hard to listen to. Would I buy again, no.
My sixth grade teacher took the last period to read to us, a first for me, I loved it. I can listen to the books I want, thanks to Audible!
I hate to admit that I wasted my money and time on what has to be poorly written porn. Selena Kitt wrote this book at a third grade English level and Holly Hackett read it at an old fashion zombie pace rendering the dull prose down to sleeping pill strength. The characters hardly reach one dimension let alone two, and it's impossible to find them worth investing our sympathy or time in.
You're better off saving your money and time by checking out any modern murder mystery where you'll find better written sex scenes on top of well written suspenseful plots.
This is the first book that I've listened to written by Selena Kitt and read by Holly Hackett so I'll check out a few more of their works before giving up on them. I just won't spend any money while doing so.
J. D. Robb's Thankless in Death: Book 37.
Holly Hackett read this book with all the finesse of a second grader giving their first oral report. There were too many unnecessary pauses to count. As for her investing any effort in creating vocal personalities for the different characters, she didn't seem to feel it worth her time.
I've enjoyed many readers and am sorry to say that Ms. Hackett isn't, at this time, one of them. Perhaps when I check out her work on another book, written by a different author, she will prove to be better than this material gave her the opportunity to be. I'm hoping so as it's hard to write such a negative review as this.
It needs too much work to even think about cutting scenes. I would have called this a first rough draft and after doing a simple spelling and grammar check, I'd send it back to Ms. Kitt to rewrite.
I'll go to the library to see if they carry any of Ms. Kitt's work and see if this book was just a fluke before leaving her on my list of authors to avoid.
Average. Some hot sex, but the rest of the stories we nothing special. I had hoped for better. I would not buy again. My downloads, (tried it twice), were messed up. Part 2 repeats a disc of material that was earlier in part 1. Since I burn them to disc to listen in my car, cost me a bunch of discs and time. No satisfactory response from customer service.
