Story
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Several short stories in one book- AMAZING
Would you listen to Best Women's Erotica 2014 again? Why?
There were a total of seventeen stories that make up this book. There were only a couple that were okay, the remaining were AWESOME! This book causes the reader linger on the last story before taking you off to another exhilarating journey. This is a MUST read if you like a variety and are open minded (BDSM, kinky sex).
What was one of the most memorable moments of Best Women's Erotica 2014?
The Cake was one of my favorite stories. It was playful, suspenseful, then OH MY... WOW!
Which character – as performed by Lucy Malone – was your favorite?
The story of Nyotaimori-- I don't recall her name though. While I'm not into the chopstick erotic play, I felt hooked. The character and the way her inner voice reached me made me want more. What made her want this, what made the patrons want more??
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I finished this book in one day, and have since recommended it to several of my friends.

As a man..
Where does Best Women's Erotica 2014 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Very good. I listened primarily for educational purposes.
What other book might you compare Best Women's Erotica 2014 to and why?
I would say this should be every mans companion book to anything else he is doing to improve his sex life.
Which scene was your favorite?
The part where the woman dominates the man is...interesting.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
*giggity*
Any additional comments?
I listed to this to learn more about what women enjoy and what turns them on. I learned a lot, and have already improved greatly with pleasing my woman.
Some of them I thought to be quite strange (girl faking as man on boat). But all in all, well worth the time to listen. Having a better idea of what women fantasize about and enjoy has taught me a lot, and I think made me a better man.

One of the best in the series
Would you listen to Best Women's Erotica 2014 again? Why?
Very erotic stories with different venues. Things I never would have thought as erotic . This collection had some very different and wonderful surprises. If you enjoy erotic stories this one I recommend
What did you like best about this story?
It seems this volume of Best of got the writers stretching their imaginations. The stories were very different from many of the others in previous Best of Women's Erotica. I can honestly say I enjoyed every one of the stories from start to end.
Which character – as performed by Lucy Malone – was your favorite?
She was wonderful with emotion and expressing gender, and at points surprise, anger and other very strong feelings of the characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes each story was great. When you get anthologies that contain over 20 stories, if 85-90% are good you have a great deal (and in these series I have found that is the case) However in this book EVERY story was enjoyable to me. Maybe because they were so original..
Any additional comments?
Keep them coming, the authors and the genre are great.

Great selection of steamy stories!!
Where does Best Women's Erotica 2014 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It is definitely near the top. Violet Blue has picked an amazing set of stories again. And Lucy Malone was the perfect choice of narrator. Both are fantastic!
Have you listened to any of Lucy Malone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have. She always does a great job. This is one of her best performances yet.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. And I did. Was very fun to listen to at work ;)
Any additional comments?
If you have a credit available you should definitely pick this up! Even if you don't it is worth a buy. Fun listen by yourself or with a partner to spice things up!

Title says it all!
Having listened to other erotica books on Audible, this one tops them all! The narrators all had good expressions and the stories mostly believable. Written from a woman’s perspective, I loved the nuances and feelings evoked. It stoked my passions and I was literally dripping with excitement!

narration and lack of male reactions horrible
Would you try another book from Violet Blue and/or Lucy Malone?
No, unless they amazingly realized the man's desire and lust for the woman is a huge turn on that they have totally emitted from ALL their stories. DNF. Three or so stories was all I could tolerate.
Has Best Women's Erotica 2014 turned you off from other books in this genre?
From this editor and these collections yes. There are some wonderful erotica stories....just not these.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I really found this narrator totally irritating.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Best Women's Erotica 2014?
The entire cake story was bizarre. I would add a male pov. One in which he desperately desires the female. How did they miss this totally erotic message
Any additional comments?
I want to know the man will go to any lengths to have her. For many women that is a huge turn on. It was like the authors were not so secret man haters. Uggh
