Pepper Pace's interracial fairytale is the story of Beast, a marine with a destroyed face; and a plus-sized beauty who has identity issues. A lesson learned is that beauty is not just what is shown on the outside. In this romance taken from the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, Pepper makes you question: "Who is the beauty and who is the beast?" This story contains sexually explicit content and language.

I read this story a couple years ago and loved it. I was excited that Pepper's books are finally starting to be recorded; however, the narration left a lot to be desired. I notice that quite a few words were mispronounced and that can get a bit distracting. Other than that, I enjoyed the book.
I Love this book SOOO much and the characters in it, that it was a real disappointment to hear it done such a disservice by this narrator. It was really hard to listen to. I'm so glad I'd read the book before this purchase otherwise I believe I would have missed out on a really good book. I wonder if this was Ms. Garth first time narrating. It was hard to tell which characters were speaking, the inflections of the words were off, it was read with almost no emotion, and some words mispronounced. I am not a writer nor a critic, however I think in order to this book justice I think it needs to be reread by a different narrator.
I would recommend the ACTUAL book to anyone who hasn't read it...the book is AMAZING..as far as the audiobook is concerned....the narrator ruins the actual book and it
"in my opinion" is a painful listen....
Because of the narration there really wasn't a distinction of the characters....they all sounded the same......
The narrator needed to be more seasoned....with more books under her belt...or if the author wanted to stick with the current narrator then she needs to slow down in her reading, she read the book like it was a speed reading contest, feel and get to know the characters so that voices for each personality can be established... work on phrasing, intonation, and pronunciation..so many words were pronounced incorrectly (Louboutin for example)...exhibit more emotion, everything is just so mono-tone..the love scenes were sad. .I just felt this was the wrong narrator for such a WONDERFUL book....she has a good voice, but not the expertise to perform this particular book.....
Yes, most definately and would take people with me....
I think that the author should consider having this book redone......the book is FANTASTIC and deserves to be heard by everyone....I just feel that with the current narrator many purchasers are going to be very unhappy with this book....I liked the voices that I created in my head when I was reading this book better than what I heard when I purchased it....I feel
like I really wasted my credit in buying this book....Ms. Pace your BOOK is WONDERFUL,the narrator just didn't do it justice....and for this I am so sad.....:(
I loved the story of two people who are so different finding each other with no fears. Pepper Pace is always a good read.
Beast and Ashley.
There was no emotion and too many mispronounced words. The words ran together at times and she just seemed rushed at some points in the book.
A Beast in name only...
Glad the book was available in audio but the narration left a lot to be desired.
Yes, because Pepper is an awesome writer. Oh. If you're a BWWM fan, this is you're girl. (I'm a chocolate sister and have no interest in BWWM if the female is a WBF. That to me is a W/BWWM. It's just my preference, but Pepper mixes it up so you can choose).
Both main characters but T.K (?) was funny.
This is really why I'm writing this review. I passed this audible over a few times because of the reviews for the narrator. As someone who averages 6 hours a day ( don't judge a sister), the narrator is good. TRUST AND BELIEVE, I've heard baaaaaad! As a reviewer said, she's new at this. She "reads" the story as you would yourself. She does add correct pauses, appropriate emotion, etc. She hasn't learned to create different voices and really "act" out the story. Perhaps listening to Michael Pauley, Tali Martel, Pepper Laramie and Quiana Goodrum (who I, after the first time hearing her do A Heart Not Easily Broken, swore I would never listen to anything by her again, but she is unbelievable in Inevitable and a couple others). We may forget that this is a learned craft. It is important that we continue to give them feedback in the form of constructive criticism. I believe narrators like Ms. Garth will benefit as will we. However, I normally appreciate my fellow reviewers for saving me headaches, earaches, money and time by telling me which narrators to skip. Fortunately, the reviews for Ms.Pace made me take a chance. I immediately followed up by buying Juicy and Crash for Kindle. Pepper's average 4.5 rating is well deserved! I look forward to Ms. Garth's growth.
I'm really glad that author's such as Ms.Pace has some books on audible because, sometimes, like in this case, that's how I'm introduced to them.
Traveling therapist listening to AUDIBLE books while driving to far areas. Also host/produce radio show on KGLP 91.7 on staying positive!!
Audible is best for me due to traveling for a career. I appreciate the reader's acting skills to help make the scenes come alive in my mind as I drive.

This book is ranked very high and that may be because this is my favorite book of all time.
My favorite characters are Christopher and Ashley. I can identify with both the hero and heroine in this story. Their love is so real to me.
I don`t have a favorite scene because I love the entire book. There are scenes that I did not care for but for the most part everything was enjoyable.
Yes it was. I listened to this book while I was at work and did not want to stop listening when people had questions or would interrupt me.
I have been waiting for this book to come to audible. It took a book that I have read several times and made it real to me. Great job!
I don't usually write reviews, but this was one of the most interesting, funny, sweet and sometimes sad story I have every had the pleasure to listen too. Hearing once was not enough.
I was excited when I learned this book was on audible. Unfortunately I was disappointed when I heard the recording. The actual book was great, but the recording was not so much. I was really looking forward to hearing the southern drawl of Christopher and the passion of the characters in the recording.
I would love to have this book re-recorded, maybe with professional actors reading the parts.
