Publisher's summary

Danika hasn't had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier. One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given. She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise.

So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine? For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard, and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating. Bad Things is about Tristan and Danika, and their train wreck of a love story. This series can be read as a standalone, or with the Up in the Air trilogy. This audiobook is intended for ages 18 and up.

Wow, Wow, and Wow! Get this book!

I can't stand it! This book is over and now I have to wait for the second. I usually don't do reading a book myself anymore, but, I have to know what the next book holds. Now, you know this series is a winner!

Loved it!

Any additional comments?

I can't believe how good this was! I especially loved the first half. There were only a couple chapters of Tristan's POV and it wasn't necessary. It kind of took away from the book. I didn't much like Mile High and the second book was a big DNF, so I was pleasantly surprised.

MORE than makes up for the Up in the Air crapola.

This story stays on my Top 5 “must reads” list, and it’s my go-to recommendation for angsty audiobooks.

The narrators are perfect. The story, surprisingly, is well-blended, with great tension and balance. I didn’t have high hopes for RK Lilley after that James & Bianca sex-fest fiasco. But this proves that the writer can, in fact, deliver without repetition, and without making sex sound like a chore.

This is probably my 8th listen. And I still get the chills. Strongly recommended.

good story

it was good. it wasn't mind blowing, but the story was good. towards the end, Danika...... God, that heifer made me wanna slap her. started off strong and just, I don't even know what happened. Tristan on the other hand, he was absolutely delicious. there's a difference in a man who is confident and a man who is cocky. cocky is a turn off. confidence is sexy as hell. maybe I figured that out as I got older. I tell my husband that's what drew me to him. his confidence in himself and the way he carried himself. just shmexy. lol. the audible was great ! 5 stars for that

Hot and stormy

This story totally kept me engaged the whole read. The story line was not predictable the last twist took me by storm.

Great Book/Audio book

Would you consider the audio edition of Bad Things to be better than the print version?

I really enjoy listening to books if you have the right narrator(s). I really enjoyed having both a male and a female reading this book for the parts of Tristan and Danika. Both do an exceptional job with this book.

What did you like best about this story?

This was a great story of two very damaged individuals. It is obvious by the end of the book that the relationship is somewhat unhealthy for the two of them. I think the term would be co-dependent. There are a lot of highs and lows in this book. I found myself smiling and in tears at times. I enjoy books the have you experiencing a myriad of emotions.

Which scene was your favorite?

It's hard to pick a favorite scene in this book, but I would have to say the event that stands out is when Danika attends Tristan's concert and finds her speaking with James Cavendish. His visceral reaction revealed his true feelings after a two week effort in denial.

Any additional comments?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was quick to buy/listen to Book 2 - Rock Bottom. I would HIGHLY recommend this series.

Beautiful Trainwreck

I already loved R. K. Lilley' writing before reading this book which reinforced my feeling. I had read her Up In the Air series and knew some of these characters and their fates. I had a sense of dread early in the book seeing Tristan and Danika spiraling out of control and I was on board for the ride. I tried to start another book in the middle but could not leave these two. The ending was unexpected and leaves the future uncertain. R. K. Lilley writes some strong but terribly flawed female characters. I fell in love with Frankie and hope for more from her in future. I have the next book cued up but may need a break before jumping back on this train right away.
