Publisher's summary

Danika hasn't had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier. One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given. She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise.

So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine? For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard, and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating. Bad Things is about Tristan and Danika, and their train wreck of a love story. This series can be read as a standalone, or with the Up in the Air trilogy. This audiobook is intended for ages 18 and up.

4.5 stars for PeekaBoo

I'd read these books way back in 2015, I think. And now I've revisited in audio. Back then over the top alphas and demure, lust riddled heroines were a thing and this couple of Tristan Vega- the lead vocalist in a Local band & Danika the hot nanny were THE hottest couple in my opinion. With passage of time and having read tons of books since, I may have outgrown my own reader immaturity.
It's STILL pretty hot, sizzling chemistry and sex at every page but the characters now seem to be missing a dimension.
That's Just MY opinion.
One look and Danika has falls into a deep spell of Tristan, a larger than life personality with mischievous twinkle in his eyes and dimples in this naughty smile

He lives life on his own terms, no entanglements, no relationships, just party hard. Just his proximity is enough for Danika to melt into him and say yes to his Every Demand
They party all night, drinking real hard and she lags in her duties as a nanny (still her employer doesn't fire her?!!)
Anyway he's super jealous of all her exes, even in passing reference to the point of beating them up, threatening them and holding it against Danika.
Meanwhile his past is a no-go zone, which makes Danika super insecure and jealous.
Anyway, it's still an enjoyable read/listen, read an love it like I've done all the years.

Believable love story

Would you listen to Bad Things again? Why?

I would. I liked that the characters started as friends and hung out before it was sex, sex, sex. I loved that Danika wasn't some weak character. I loved that Tristan's character had depth.

What did you like best about this story?

The real ness of events. Their individual struggles and how they coped.

What does Sarah Naughton and Chris Ruen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved their voices. Both characters sounds like the book was written for them. Sometimes s narrators voice is annoying and can turn you off from the book but this was far from the case.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Yes. Yes. I lost a few hours sleep trying to listen to what was going to happen next. You know its a good one when you're running Kate trying to stay in your car to hear a few more minutes or when you're so tired the next morning from preying to listen all night long. Loved it!

Any additional comments?

Get this series. You won't be disappointed. Lots of twists and turns.

I liked this series better than Up In The Air

Was not a fan of the male narrator. He seemed a bit robotic and his voice had no passion when reading the heavy sex scenes. Just made it awkward to listen to.

Juicy New Adult Romance

Bad Things is that new adult romance that is filled with drama that you can't look away from. Tristan and Danika have such messed up pasts and terrible past relationships. They tried so hard to just be friends when it was blaringly clear that there was this scorching hot attraction between them. I loved this about the book and the author wrote it in such a way that was had me screaming for them to get it on already. The build up and slow burn was almost too much. All in a good way. I really liked their fun and easy relationship although I was scared for both of them. This book has some serious drama and I there for it all. I'm loving this crazy book.

I liked both narrators in this book. They did a good job and I really felt the confliction, pain, and happiness with Tristan and Danika. I was almost sad for this book to end and so ready to see what will happen next.

Addicting

While the story was about an addictive relationship in part, I couldn't stop until I finished it. Complex characters that I connected with also seemed to have everything going against them at times. There's definitely some twists in here too. I can't wait to finish the series!

Bash Things

Well told story from beginning to end. Loved that the person reading to us changed from woman to man back and forth.

RIVETING...... SIMPLY RIVETING

As the beautiful crazy love story slowly unfolds you get to learn of Tristan and Danika's passions, flaws, insecurities, needs, the family and friends around them and the train-wreck of a love they have for each other. You're swept away in their flirtations and sizzling sexual chemistry as handsome and charismatic Tristan's fun, loveable and caring personality, together with his wild side, warms, melts and enlivens Danika's plain life. However, deep down, you get the sense that things aren't going to run smoothly for charming bad boy Tristan and good-girl Danika and eventually tragedy strikes and the lovers are caught up with devastating heartbreaking consequences. But, like a moth to a flame, there's no way of stopping the lethal attraction.

I couldn't stop listening as their witty banter and instant attraction played out into a very emotional romance but as it picked up so too did the tension, jealousy, anger, angst and sexual need for each other as it escalated into an all consuming love. It's definitely a "just one more chapter" listen until light seeped into my bedroom and I knew it was going to be another 3 hours night for me.

Worth a credit? It captivates you, engulfs you and leaves you DESPERATE simply DESPERATE for the next instalment of this well-written love story and you just know that it's going to be epic. A sexy, swoon/drool-worthy, tattooed lead singer in a rock band who has dimples and a troubled past... well I would have given it 10 stars and I would have used 2 credits so YES this one's very very very credit-worthy.
