Leaked secrets. High stakes. An impossible choice.

Pellucid Rose discovered just how menacing Secret Magic can be when it comes to protecting the secret someone sealed involving her. But when soldiers of the Empire of Glass, Harpoc’s greatest enemy, kidnap her, she learns that she can’t escape unless she breaks the secret that practically strangled Harpoc - it’s an impossible choice.

Meanwhile, the Empire of Glass leaks more of the sealed confidences of the Empire of Secrets making an already tenuous situation even more fragile. With time growing short before Secrets is irreparably harmed, Pell decides to go undercover to sleuth out the cause. But detective work is not without its own perils when the prince of Glass falls for Pell.

What risks, both to herself as well as those she loves, will Pell undertake to both stop the leaks and return to Harpoc, and Secrets?

Enchanting!

Pellucid Rose is slowly waking up to realize that she was kidnapped and is being held in the Empire of Glass. She doesn't know why she's there, but she knows that someone in Glass has been leaking secrets that can irreparably harm Harpoc. With her mate's support, she's going undercover to find who's responsible. She finds out that the ring she wears signifies that Glass is her home and excitement fills her as she thinks she just might be able to find her parents. It's not long before she is summoned by Veritas, the emperor of Glass, to see who she could be. Veritas shares the story of the creation of Harpoc and himself, and it's the same story that Harpoc had shared with her. Veritas embodies truth, but Pell has a strong feeling that he hasn't lived up to his name. As she searches for her family, Prince Candor and Princess Verity show her around Glass and she really wants Veritas' children to be friends, but a problem arises. Candor wants to be much more than friends. After visiting the Tree of Knowledge, Pell's life starts to become much clearer, the facts around her birth take an unexpected turn. This new insight into her past, was a secret that Harpoc had originally sealed. Did he know who she was all along? It's a spellbinding story with a fascinating ending and Harpoc and Pell are better than ever. Sarah Kisko does a wonderful job with the narration. Her voice is clear and dynamic and she uses just the right intonation and emotion to bring the characters to life.

Fun continuation of the story

Questions are answered from the previous two books. I enjoyed it. Again there were sexual encounters which make it inappropriate for under 18. I am guessing there will be a 4th book since there are more problems to solve at the completion of the book. I am looking forward to it.

Birthday Wishes and Lasting Peace

Note to Pell: add self-defense to your list of training lessons.

Pell wakes up in an entirely different kingdom after being kidnapped (once again) by the soldiers of the Empire of Glass. No familiar surroundings. No close friends. No Harpoc. And no command over her magic. What an inconvenience!
Or…is it?
Was this whole fiasco orchestrated by The Ancient One so that Pellucid could discover the double-standard secret that keeps her in the dark? She’ll have to navigate the floating islands and attempt to find her roots from the Tree of Knowledge to see what she can spy on her own. If only she hadn’t caught the eye of a very distracting prince along the way. Answers need to be confessed or she may never get to return to her mate, and the empires may fall.

Once again, I’m absolutely thrilled with this story’s development. There are new characters to fall in love with and fawn over, old secrecies unveiled, and bigger ambiguities brought to light. You’ll find yourself rooting for both sides, now, with an edge-of-your-seat anticipation for a happy ever after.

Keep going! It’s right around the corner.

I must add (once again) that the narrator of the audiobook version keeps breathing fresh life into this story. Sarah Kisko masterfully voices everyone – from pixies to potentates – and makes them all come alive in the most delightful ways.

FAVORITE QUOTES:
Hopefully Cupid doesn’t suffer memory loss issues with his advanced age—one of his arrows already found my heart… and I couldn’t be happier. Put another way, keep your damn arrows to yourself when it comes to Candor, ya naked, winged baby.

What an adventure

Not bad for being a prisoner, but I guess when you learn that this is actually where you're from, are you really a prisoner. she is being held against her will but Pel also makes it her mission to learn as much as she can about Glass to know how secrets are being leaked. In the process of doing so, Pel is given a tour of the land of Glass and discovers the tree of knowledge. Where else can you learn about your long lost parents but an all knowing tree? Not only does she learn who her parents are and why she ended up where she did, but she learns how it all started with just two people and one ring. She learns so much more and meets so many new people while still having the dialogue with her inner self lol. I can't really go into it without giving anything away and I don't want to do that. However, I will say, I've never been hooked on a series as I am with this one where I'm desperate to get the next book. Holding my breath till then and imagining the possibilities.

The narrator, again, did an amazing job. There were so many new characters in this book and it really could have been a challenge but she was perfect. Each characters personality and accent was portrayed flawlessly. I absolutely look forward to her in the next book as well as others.

As engaging as books 1 & 2

This story is as engaging as the previous books. The only negative I got is it leaves you thirsty for more. I got this book from the voice over artist and this is my honest and voluntary review.

another amazing book in the series

i absolutely love this narrator... she totally brings the story, the characters and their emotions to life in a way few narrators can. I've grown very attached to these characters and this shows the author is very talented in character development as well as consummate story telling. I've been wholeheartedly pulled into this world and can't wait to hear how it ends with the next book! Go Pell!

Loved this Book!!!

Wow!!! I really enjoyed the first two books but this one took it to a new level. It was so good. You learn so much more about Pel and her background. Harp and Pel grow closer and she bounds with the core. You get a glimpse into Glass culture as well. This book was so well written, and the narrator has a gift for creating just the right voice for each character. It truly brings the story to life. It left off on a cliffhanger of sorts and a tsk Pel must complete, so book 4 here I come.
