Engaging and enlightening

I really enjoyed this book. It has made me feel better about my dressing and therefore about myself. It’s has helped me realized how my mood can be uplifted and I can feel more confident. I haven’t mastered the decluttering but I will get there.

Great content, but could be shorter

I love the style advice and the examples of how it shows up in our lives. As someone who doesn’t naturally seem to get fashion, this helped me out some structure around it.

I also love how she uses examples of fashion misuses and how it affects people. A lot of majority people may not be able to resonate with the non-majority perspective and POV but this puts it into perspective for those who are willing to understand.

The narrator sounds like Siri

This book is really great information that truly changed how I dress! It’s very informative and I highly recommend it. The narrator however is barely listenable. My husband heard me listening to it one day and said “it’s sounds like a robot that someone programmed to try to be human”. If I were the author I would pay to have this re-recorded and I’ve made an audio book before and know what a big job that is. It’s seriously so distracting to the great content.

Interesting perspectives and excellent advice. It'll make you think! I enjoyed this book—lots of good style advice but so much more.

A lot of notes regarding racism

While racism is important subject the title on the book creates an expectation that it will be more about fashion.

Great book for all, especially if you’re in the fashion industry

Phenomenal book. Great listen, and incredibly eye opening. Best part is the humor throughout. The author is on point, and has pioneered the field of fashion psychology.

Loved this

I finished the book in increments butt thoroughly enjoyed the content when I was in the mood. It has really opened my eyes to the way I choose and think about what I wear and how to put together outfits. I am absolutely fascinated by fashion psychology and this book delivered.

Politically Charged

Although I'd love to hear the book, it is FULL of politically charged comments. When you are trying to learn something there is no place for politics, especially when it's about something as everyday as fashion. Her examples include AOC, President Trump, Melania Trump, and... I honestly had to stop there because it is not worth listening to anymore. It's garbage. Her comments are so biased you can't glean any helpful information from this unless you are of her political persuasion. If you believe the mainstream media, enjoy constant political inferences, and want to spend your free time filling your head with more of the same division we are faced with daily in this country, then this is going to be for you! Enjoy.

I don't like it

I think watching her Ted talk might be enough. I didn't even watch it but later I saw she had one. I just feel that the essence of this hours long book can easily be summarized in 20 minutes, so Ted talk should suffice.
You might enjoy it much more if you're a black woman or enjoy reading about race so very much that you're not upset when you buy a book about fashion and it turns out to be a book about racial issues in America.
Narration is good. Book is worthless for me. It's so fun to hear that she invented fashion psychology. Really? I love how you can invent science by slapping a label on some common sense.
