Just couldn't listen a second longer.

This very well could be the best book ever written; however, I won't know until I buy the physical copy. I do not like giving bad reviews. Actually, I'm pretty easy to please. However, the narrator completely ruined this book for me. When he voiced the women, it just sounds like he's mocking them. Honestly bummed because I was so excited to listen to this book as I had been FULLY submerged into the wonderful world that the author had created. S.B Nova, if you're reading these, I am BEGGING you to bless us with the next Outcast book. 🙏

Great book but....

It was an interesting story line and the concept kept me entertained. I cant wait until book 2! The only issue I had was the narration. The narrator has great voice talents, but I feel that considering this book had mostly female characters it would have been better off narrated by a woman. He lost some of the emotion or feeling as the focus was trying to make his voice sound more feminine. The narration was very fast, early on in the book I had to really try and concentrate before ultimately rewinding and starting parts over. He is very talented and can do various voices which is great, but it probably wasn't a right fit for this book.

beware of the narrator.

The story is interesting and the author said she will link it with another so I finished it. the narrator is a Male for a primarily female lead. He does not do the female voice well as a result the males in the story had exaggerated low voices which made it difficult to imagine them any younger than 60. I really struggled because of that. I will have to get the book and read myself to enjoy the story further.

I hate when a man narrates a woman’s story

I think I really would’ve liked this book, but the narration ruined it for me. I cannot stand listening to a man try to portray a woman, especially when the portrayal is a squeaky annoying voice. I honestly could not finish I was so irritated by it. If a woman had narrated the story I think I would’ve liked it.

Narrator ummm..

The narrator was very talented but who at Audible thought that a ‘he’ was right for a ‘she’ book? His men’s voices were too rough and unappealing and his women’s voices made it difficult to imagine that the characters didn’t look like professional wrestlers.

Distracting

Unfortunately the narrator was not a good fit for this story. I Probablywould have liked the book a little more If I wasn't distracted by the narrator's Interpretation of a female voice.

Left Hanging

I liked that this story because it was very different from what I usually read, it was exciting, suspenseful and full of unexpected twists and turns. However, I don’t like how the story ended. So much of the story was left unfinished, and there was no closure. An infant girl is sent away from her home by her parents to another realm (Earth) for her own safety. When she grows up and finally leaves to return home (to in another realm) to her family, she never reaches her destination. She has many adventures, meets many new people along the way , and learns a lot about herself in the process. However, the one thing that she does not get to do, is reach her home or learn who her parents are which is the reason she started the return journey in the first place. At the unfinished ending of this tale, there isn’t even a note from the author as to weather another book is in the works, the reader can only assume that there will be another book in this (maybe) sequel.

Major Narrator Problems

loved this book when I started reading it then I switched to audio and it ruined it. how did this GUY get the job of reading this book? Awful, screeching voices for the women and he made all of the men characters sound like they were 50 or 60 year old men....I had to go back to the Kindle version. This narrator is just so bad!
