Publisher's summary

Dragonfly in the Land of Ice is Book 2 in the Dragonfly series (Series 2 in the Dragonslayer World).

When Greeta is abducted by strange Northlander men who set sail for the Land of Ice, she is shocked to find her family aboard the Northlanders’ ship. Even more surprising, her family not only knows the men who stole Greeta away, but also has promised to help them by forging weapons using the secret technique reserved for making dragonslayer swords. All Greeta wants is to go back to her simple, everyday life where she can live in peace and quiet.

Once they arrive in the Land of Ice, a sorcerer sends ice dragons that attack the Northlanders’ settlement. The Northlanders believe the sorcerer wants to drive them out of their own country. In a strange twist of fate, Greeta is isolated with the Northlander woman Frayka who believes she must find and kill the sorcerer in order to protect her people and their future. When Frayka is injured, Greeta knows that abandoning the Northlander woman would most likely lead to Frayka’s death. Although Greeta would rather return to her own family and home, she isn’t willing to risk Frayka’s safety, even if it means going on a journey that Greeta would refuse under normal circumstances.

Traveling together throughout the unusual countryside of the Land of Ice, Greeta and Frayka encounter bizarre magical creatures and unexpected allies. When Greeta realizes her own people back home in the Great Turtle Lands are likely to be the sorcerer’s next target, she steps up her efforts to help Frayka. But has Greeta’s change of heart come too late?

Good second book in series

I'm enjoying this series, and very much looking forward to reading the next book. Unfortunately, I find it difficult to listen to the author's mechanical narration.

Greeta’s adventures continue in the Land of Ice

This second episode in the Dragonfly series picks up where Dragonfly left off with Gretta’s abduction by the Northlander men. Once again Gretta gains more insight into herself as well as her abilities to deal with what appears to be desperate situations and people who are less than friendly or receptive to input – yes, I’m talking about you Frayka. The action in this episode will keep the reader/listener wondering how the girls are going to get out of each situation not to mention how other characters might affect the outcomes. Once again Resa Nelson does an excellent job of narrating this story. I received a review copy of the audiobook through StoryOrigin and chose to provide this review.

Book Two is Great!

The author, Resa Nelson, does another amazing job of narration. The cadence and interpretation is wonderful and the story a joy to listen too.

We see the adventure take off in book two of 'Dragonfly - in the Land of Ice'. They are in the northland now with Grerta and her family who are replaying a favor by helping relatives in the northlands. Freika, a village girl, comes across rough and hard and is suspicious of Greeta, she eventually almost begrudgingly becomes friends with Greeta. This book is about the two girls harrowing tale into the northland with the Ice dragons, a captured dragon goddesses and Findehurst. The Nordic like and Tribal worldbuilding keeps this book so relatable that I feel myself traveling along with Greeta. Greeta dream travels, talks with her ancestors and leans much during her dream time. Magic tapestries, shapeshifters and dragons are woven into the story, it's as if everyone is traveling through our world but in another dimension. Book two is exciting and the story goes by way too fast. I wanted it to continue but I'll have to pick up the next audio book. If you enjoy dragon fantasy audiobooks or want to try out the fantasy genre put this series on your list.
I was given a free copy of the audiobook from the author through StoryOrigin in exchange for an honest review.

Character and plot depth keeps your mind focused!

I enjoyed book 2 more than book 1 which is hard to say for most series. It is still predictable in nature but the character and plot depth keeps your mind on what's important, the story and character progression! I commend Resa for her narration, typically most authors think they can do it but can’t…and she CAN! I look forward to the next book in the series.
