Publisher's summary

From number-one best-selling and Amazon All-Star Author Kathryn Le Veque comes a dark Medieval romance of hatred, revenge, and, ultimately, redemption. Enter the Devil's Dominion....

AD 1205 - it's years after The Dark Lord Jax de Velt tore through the Welsh marches and captured several castles. Still he holds lands that do not belong to him. Out of the ashes from this dark and lawless time rises the son of one of the men Jax de Velt put to the stake. Bent on revenge against The Dark Lord, Bretton de Llion has grown up in obscurity, hidden from de Velt's rage, and has learned to hate the very world around him. His sense of vengeance against de Velt has been his guiding force for years. Gathering a powerful mercenary army, Bretton rages through Wales, emulating de Velt's reign of terror, killing and destroying, moving toward a target he has long planned for - abducting one of Jax de Velt's children in order to lure Jax into his trap. Discovering that Jax's eldest daughter is a novice nun at Alberbury Priory, he burns down the priory in his quest to abduct Lady Allaston de Velt. Successful in his endeavor, he sends word to de Velt: Come to me, or your daughter will suffer. His perfect revenge is planned.

But it is not so perfect when this warrior, who has never known love or kindness, discovers feelings for the daughter of the man he has hated his entire life. Join Bretton and Allaston in a very complex journey of terror, sadness, and the ultimate conquest - love. Old friends such as Christopher de Lohr and Keller de Poyer join Jax de Velt as integral parts of this riveting Medieval tale.

Can Allaston prevent Bretton from killing her father? Or do old hatreds burn too deep? Enter the Devil's Dominion at your own risk.

The Very Best Book This Year

Devil's Dominion by Kathryn Le Veque js absolutely the very best book I have read this year. it has everything anyone can want in a book: terror, war, dungeons, intrigue, kidnapping, brutality, tears, laughter, concern, and happiness. It is a gripping story from beginning to end.

Bretton De Leon escaped his father's castle as it is being over run by mercanaries at age five. after a life of horrors at age thirty, he returns to Wales with an army of mercanaries for vengeance. With death and destruction as his weapons he captures the daughter of the man that wrecked his life by capturing his father's castle. Now you must read the book to see the twists and turns Kathryn Le Veque will guide you through to the culmination. Truly, Brad Wills is a premiere narrator also.

I LOVE KATHRYN LE VEQUE'S STORIES....

I normally love Kathryn LeVeque's stories, however, this story was a little graphic and dark for a romance. I found it to be very repetitive and slow at times. Brad Wills is wonderful as the narrator, as usual. The voices he comes up with are truly amazing. He doesn't just narrate a story...he "acts" a story...and there is a huge difference in that. I will still continue to listen to KL's stories, but, this one...I couldn't give it the five stars I usually do.

Brutal but Beautiful

Admittedly, Devil's Dominion is a hard pill to swallow in many ways. If you're sensitive to scenes and descriptions of excruciating brutality, you may want to pass on this one. However, if you're able to struggle through, you will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful and moving happy endings. For me it was worth it.
The narrator, Brad Wills, is typically brilliant. He doesn't read; he performs. He has become my absolute favorite male narrator on Audible. He never disappoints.

Better to have read it

Terrific story, but Brad Wills made the female characters sound silly, shallow and affected. A different narrator might have helped

Heavenly Delight

But you need to walk through Hells Half Acre first. Vivid descriptions of the turmoil and terror. Well described emotions. When the good stuff happens it is a delight. Brad Wills gives an amazing voice to all of this. Enjoy.

A Different Kind Of Knight

Not the highly polished, courtly knights of the highest order this time. These dreaded knights of the lowest kind are messing up castles, destroying families, pillaging and plundering, reaking havoc in general. Well worth the read. After all, the author is Kathryn LeVeque.

What A Book!

I could not stop listening to this book. You can understand the turmoil, fear, the violence Bretton saw at 5 years old. This would have left a lasting impression on him and he was alone. His family was dead. It changed him into the man he became. This story reminds me of the Christians during Roman rule, how they would dehumanize them. This was no different. The love that developed between Bretton and Allaston was his salvation.

There is cruelty (true historical crulty) in this book. IT HAPPENED. If you can get past the cruelty and into the substance of the book, you will really enjoy it especially with Brad Wills as the narrator. He does not disappoint. I must remind you, this is not the easiest book to listen too.. But Oh, KLV is on her job.

Another winning combination!

Usually I read Kathryn Le Veque's books before getting to listen to them. This is an exception. I was not disappointed in the least. Brad Wills had me mesmerized with his different voices for all the characters. I especially liked how he played Bretton. There are some very emotional parts and he had me laughing and crying as I read along. kudos to Kathryn for another well written book and kudos to Brad for an awesome performance!
