But as animals can be spied on only by getting quite close, Heinrich adopts ravens, thereby becoming a "raven father", as well as observing them in their natural habitat. He studies their daily routines and, in the process, paints a vivid picture of the ravens' world. At the heart of this book are Heinrich's love and respect for these complex and engaging creatures, and through his keen observation and analysis we become their intimates, too.

First Rate!
This is an absolute must read for anyone with even a passing interest in re-populating Yellowstone N. P with wolves. Mr Douglas Smith was the project leader on the world project, and he along with his co-writer did a bang up job with telling the story. It really makes me want to visit Yellowstone in the winter to see the wolves, which would be an over the top incredible experience.

Absolutely fascinating book
I have recently developed deeper need to learn about wolves in Yellowstone Park and this book contains most valuable information for beginners. Will listen to it again soon.

It's a must read for anyone interested in the wild
