I love every book by Selena, but this one is my favorite. I love the backstory without it being repetitive. It really pulls all the other books together. And Preston… oh my! He is my favorite now. Fantastic story and great narrators. Dolly was really captured in the voice.

Sweet Glimpse into the past
I’ve read the Faulkner universe from series 1 and this was a great look into the Darling past and the relationships that surround them from their youth. It was great to get those deep connections and the romance of Preston and Dolly. I want to wrap Preston in a hug lol His character is so complex and disturbing but beautiful. Such a great author and this was definitely a softer side of the Faulkner world which was great as the other series are so intense and packed with angst and rivalry and just 😳 moments. This was amazing and I. Don’t wait to listen to the next book!! Narration was OBVIOUSLY amazing. I mean Troy Duran can do no wrong lol Always always elevates the characters he portrays and just really brings the story to life. Devon is newer to me, but wow she did such a great job. At first I was by sure if I was digging the whispery tone to her voice but then it grew on me and I think really portrayed Dolly. So good all around!!!

Troy and Devon blew me away with their voices.
This was my first ever audiobook and I was so scared and excited to try it out. Troy Duran and Devon Grace blew me away with their voices for Dolly and Preston in this audiobook. Their voices brought this story, Dolly, and Preston to life. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to listen to the next one!

So Good
I love that in this story we get to see how the Darlings lived until the Dolces arrived in Faulkner. We get more of an idea of all the things each character went through and how much they were in each others lives since they were little. Preston’s love is so obsessive he thinks the things he does are ok. Dolly is kind of naive and set on the idea of trying to live upto expectations that others have imposed on her. I got this on audio and it was so good.. have definitely added a new narrator to my list of favs. Can't wait to listen to the conclusion on the next book.

Good narrators but...
I was thoroughly bored with this storyline. too slow, too young. 3 books should be 1. took me a few months to get through this whole audiobook. I want to know the ending, but think I'll borrow the book and skip to the end. too bad too cuz I love troy Duran.
