Second Sight...Precognition....

Mitch always had the power...or the curse. It had been passed down in her family tree, generation to generation.

No matter how far away she ran, the unwanted visions of killing filled her mind. She felt the victim’s terror, the terrible pain of the stabbing knife.

Unable to banish what she has seen, Mitch goes to the police.

And seals her doom....

The murderer knows that Mitch’s gift is real.

The next death Mitch sees will be her own.

Psychic Stuff!

There is lots of it in this one. Overall I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Though I found the narration to be problematic in a few ways. I really liked Freddy Moyano's voice, it has an interesting whispery quality that I found interesting. That said, his accent didn't seem to fit with the setting and more importantly, even if it did, all of the characters had the same accent... so it was very difficult to distinguish between them a lot of the time. I think the writing may have contributed to this as well - I think the same characters were referred to in different ways (first and last names) and some of the names sounded similar enough to others to the point where I really didn't know who was speaking much of the time. It wasn't a bad book at all, but I don't think I would recommend it to any friends.

Great Story!!!

I really enjoyed Dark Visions especially the ending. The narrator did a great job on the female character Mitch. I thought he did an excellent job going into the male voice(tone) from a female voice(tone). I would recommend this novel to anyone who likes psychological thrillers.

an amazing story

This story is about a young woman who can see pending deaths of people around her. When she went to the police. They thought she was a wacko. But one detective decided to give her a chance. And found he could actually care about the young beautiful woman.

Now for the narrative. Freddy did a great job using different voices. The slow soft voice takes a little to get used to, but then I realized that he was putting the emotions of the main character into the voice. I enjoyed listening this story, and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good psychic murder mystery

Narrator did a disservice to the story

I think I would have enjoyed the book more if I had read it instead of listening. The story was ok, but the narration made it a struggle to finish.

Great supernatural story!

A great take on murder mystery/supernatural. Solid story, the author creates an interesting take on clairvoyance, wrapped up in murder and deception. The narration was ok, a little choppy creating an odd cadence and flow, but all in all with such a strong story it’s easy to overlook.

Visions of Murder

I enjoyed the story. It was a bit of a struggle to get through it, but it was a good story. I don’t think it strayed far from your typical psychic helping a cop story, but this could have been ground breaking 30 years ago. The names have been changed to protect the innocent, but the story remains the same. It was well told and while there isn’t much mystery, it is a good chase with some twists along the way.

I liked the two main characters, although I had a hard time discerning them from other characters from time to time. When I think back on the story, I have a better idea of who was who and understand now what was going on. I got lost a little bit in the moment, but it could have been because I was multitasking while listening. Once I finished the story, and reflected on what I had listened, I realized that it was a much better plot line than I thought it was at the time. I think this is one that would be worth a second listen to catch the things I missed the first time and appreciate the characters more. They had a lot going on in their lives and I fear I missed some of their development.

My main issue I had was the narrator. I don’t often come across a narrator that I don’t like, however I had a really hard time with his narration. I checked other books that he narrated, and he doesn’t narrate them the way he did this one, I really liked the samples from the other books I heard. With this book he had a very soft whispery voice that I didn’t think matched the tone of the book or the characters. At first, I was gung-ho on having a book read different from the norm, but slowly it dragged the overall story down. I really enjoyed his accent, although his slow and often shaky voice caused a bit of the confusion for me with the characters as I couldn’t always discern the difference between them. From time to time I thought their character voices were switching and wondered why Russ went from his voice to Mitch’s.

Dark, Spooky and Twisty

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this dark story. This one is about Mitch, a woman who has been plagued with visions her entire life. She is missunderstood by almost everyone in her life. In one part of the story her mom is trying to get Mitch to get back together with her ex-husband. Her mom kind of encourages her to stop talking about her craziness and try to be happy. Mitch has tried before to tell the police about what she knows from her visions. In the past she has be called a nut case and even been accused of the murder from her visions. Mitch becomes involved in the case of a serial killer and meets a detective who isn't sure if he believes her or not. As they get closer to the killer there some close calls that had me on edge because Mitch crosses right in to the path of danger. I had to really pay attention to the narrator as he had a very heavy accent. I wear hearing aids and have trouble picking up some tones of the speaker. I had to go backwards a couple times and relisten to certain parts of the story for a better understanding. I liked all the twists and tension in the story through to the end. Great Story.

Give this a chance.... so happy I did.....

When I first turned this on, I really didn't think I would like. it. But it ended up being soo very good! I thought the narrator wasn't going to be good, but he grew on me and by the end of the book I could see how he fit perfectly for this kind of book. I really enjoyed listening to this. And I am so glad that I didn't give up after the first chapter or two. I love scary or freaky, thller kind of books so this was right up my ally!

This book was given to me at my request (thanx!). I am providing a voluntary and honest review.
