Satisfying sci fi romp

This was tagged by some as YA. Maybe, but for me, 70 yr old retired editor and writer, it was just fun. I especially love snarky dialogue and this fits my expectations. I’ve kept on with the series enjoying the intrepid adventures of the diverse crew. The characters develop over the series.

I am disappointed though that the authors did not do a better job of filling in more of the background or provided a brief epilogue or timeline so those unfamiliar with the story prequel (Renegade series) had a bit more information.

another winner!

M.F. Lerma and J.N. Chaney are great storytellers. I've also been really impressed with the job Neill Thorne has done. This is a great series that I highly recommend. If you enjoyed book 1, pick this one up and get ready for some fun. The story keeps the action up and the characters continue to grow and evolve. Gray is especially fun.

Draws we’ll on the established first book

While the first book in the series could easily stand alone, I now see it was an introduction to the characters and setting to this sci-fi romp. Enjoyed the story and character interactions. The narrator was spot on with his inflections!

Heck of a build up

The beginning started off really smoothly, with a whole calm before the storm feel, then it just took off and didn't stop. The narrator is freaking spot on with the interactions between the crew. Especially Poe the AI and Riker. Their banter made me laugh out loud a few times and I can't wait for the next book now.

Book 1 and book 2 were pretty good

I have to say the book one and book 2 were pretty good. I enjoyed them a lot.

I really enjoyed this book it’s believable sci-fi which is hard to come bye. I can buy into this story it is interesting alien technology

Great sequel to Renegade Star

Loving the story so far - little bummed it’s far from the star universe (Voyager vs TNG) but the story and characters are top notch

so much fun to hear

really enjoyed this second title. the characters remained solid the story progressed and I must say this narrator is new to me and his range of character voices is absolutely spot on you can tell if it's a man, woman, alien or a kid. it must be exhausting keeping up individual voices for each character and sub character kudos onto the third book.

First book in this series was ok but not great. This book is #2 and is great. I really hope there are more to come, Soon! There was a link to a third book, but it led to a dead end. Hope they get it straightened out. I will order it as soon as I see it. 🤔😁
