Publisher's summary

Danny's World is the story of Danny, an amazing handicapped boy who won the fight to overcome the stigma of being a disabled or handicapped child following the Great Depression. The power of superstition and fear held sway over the lives of families with special children until they met Danny. He changed everything. Danny's gift of understanding other children like himself gave him the ability to teach them, encourage them and inspire their parents to bring them out of the shadows into the sunshine of acceptance. Come inside, listen to Danny's story and celebrate with him. He won!

Heartwarming tale

I find it amazing that people (even in the past) a freak because they may be different than yourself. You never know what god will give you in child birth. God only gives special people a special child. I was lucky enough to have been a special person. My child didn’t live to see 2 years of age but what she taught me in her short life has stayed with me for my entire life. I don’t know if this book was based on a true story but it a story that I would recommend to anyone especially to other children so that they may have the understanding what is needed and teach an adult or another person that we are all the same on the inside. No matter the color or nationality we are all the same.

heartwarming lovely story.

Although the story was short, the message was clear. Being disabled myself, I have experienced some prejudice. Maybe not quite as much as the children in this story, but I have still encountered discrimination due to being disabled. As a result, I could relate to this story. The narration was excellent, with difeent voices and accents. Overall a nice little book with a great message and well narrated.

Wonderful story, Wonderful lesson

This delightful book is wonderful for the whole family to listen to together. The characters are as in a rural small town with all the challenges of small town living and culture. Based around the WW II time period adds an international dimension to the plot. As a former home school mom I see this book as a great teaching tool about discrimination good and bad, and the consequences that can occur from those biases. I will be recommending this book to anyone that asks for a good read.

Danny is amazing

Poor Danny. set in the early 1940s. he has had such a hard early life. born with a birth defect on his foot. really made his life hard. starting from his birth from his father.
This is a story about hope, and courage.

the narrator did an excellent job bringing this story to life! great job David!

Danny's World

This was a very good book.I enjoyed it.I found it slow going. Narration by David Bosco was a bit stilted at times, but seemed to fit the book.Sadly ,prejudice against anyone different is always going to cause division.A very timely book.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'
