Publisher's summary

From L.J. Shen, the WSJ best-selling author of Vicious and The Kiss Thief, comes a brand-new angsty, delicious stand-alone in the All Saints series. This friends-to-lovers, boy-obsessed romance will make you cry your eyes out and laugh with joy, sometimes within seconds of one another.

Underneath the goody-two-shoes persona is damaged goods...but can the bad boy across the street save her?

Bailey Followhill is the perfect daughter. Sweet. Charitable. Pretty. Control freak. Not a hair out of place, not an inch out of line, she is everything her troublemaking sister Daria isn't. But when her A game turns out to be a lukewarm C- at Juilliard, Bailey's picture-ready life starts fraying faster than the worn satin ribbons of her pointe shoes. She's becoming a piece of gossip. The troubled child. A drug abuser. No longer the girl her best friend once knew.

Lev Cole is so golden, he's got the Midas touch. Prized quarterback. Football captain. Hottest guy in SoCal. A textbook cliché. But with a girlfriend he doesn't love and a career path he doesn't value, Lev is coasting. The only two things he cares about―Bailey and becoming a pilot―are out of reach.

But Lev is done being satisfied with the life others have chosen for him. He wants to pick his own cards. To demolish the seamless kingdom of lies his family stitched together on the ruins his mother left behind.

The question is, can he save his best friend and his dream before too much damage is done?

Levs and Bailey’s Story

A good girl turned bad, this book talks about drug abuse and how it affects their love ones. And how this love one would do anything to help them. Levi Cole the youngest son of Dean and Rosie. Dealing with your mothers death at he age of 14 wasn’t easy. That’s why he has his best friend Bailey Followhill by his side until she wasn’t.4 years they were separated and when she comes home after an overdose. Can he get his bestfriend back? I love these voice actors reading this story. Thank you so much to grace my ears while I work.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I think it needed a different male actor for Lev. Voice was waaay too deep. I imagined him in his 30s instead of 18.
This was hard. Because I feel like parts of the book were good and then other parts just fell flat.
I get the insane amount of pressure from family and as a dancer. I didn’t turn to drugs so I can’t speak to the authenticity of that aspect, but I did develop an eating disorder. (How cliche. I know)
Lev’s little talk with Thalia didn’t give any closure of what she did. There is no way Jamie and Mel just let all that slide. Nooooo way.
The ending felt rushed and the last paragraph was not needed. Could have just said it was a girl. Didn’t need to give a name. That’s where most of her downfall lies. It’s awkward
Anyway it’s late and I might have more thought later. Book 1 is still my favorite.

Imperfectly perfect love

All the stars in the sky for Lev and Bailey’s story!

This story is full of smothering moms, dads that hold tight, best friends, young adults learning to be on their own, toxic friends, being imperfect, first love and last loves.

It’s an enemies to lovers with the best digs, secret touches, almost kisses, pushing away to protect, and being there when it counts.

It’s angst with laughs, it’s a standalone and it’s a story that ties a bunch of stories together. This will be in my love-love-love book list.

Incredible ending to a favorite series of mine ❤

I loved the character development of Lev and Bailey. Lev fighting for what he wants and Bailey overcoming her demons. I have worked in treatment for many years and half the battle is realizing you have to stand on your own two feet first before you go into a relationship. And the codependent in the relationship needs to be able to walk away so the addict can heal. LJ Shen portrays this beautifully. Highly recommend the narrators as well, I love both of them so much! So so talented.
