Publisher's summary

A magical sleigh ride. A mysterious detour. Will her holiday be marked by garlands or gravestones?

Imogen feels like she’s buried under an avalanche of secrets. Caught up in puzzling out her mysterious origins and her confusing emotions for Prince Hank, she hopes a magical holiday retreat with friends will take her mind off her troubles. But when a roadway ambush steers their sleigh off course, she must stay the night in a quaint little village veiled in secrets of its own....

Partying alongside her bakery friends and handsome prince at the mayor’s ball, Imogen finally pushes aside her uncertain visions to soak in the holiday spirit. But the merriment comes to an abrupt halt after a dead body floats to the surface of a cauldron of punch.

When the angry townsfolk point their pitchforks at her friend, Imogen must shovel through layers of mysteries to find the real killer before innocent blood runs cold.

Cookie Dough, Snow & Wands Aglow is the fourth book in the Spells & Caramels paranormal cozy mystery series. If you like enchanted friendships, a sprinkling of romance, and twists you won’t see coming, then you’ll love Erin Johnson’s snow-dusted whodunit.

exceptional series

I received a free code to listen to this book and I did so willingly

What a shame... as this was the last book I had. I would love to know what happened between the newly found brother and sister. I'm so intrigued by the lifestyle of the characters that I truly feel part of them.

remarkable series and very well narrated

Better and Better!

This 4th book in the Spells and Caramels series will not disappoint. The story sees Imogen and crew traveling to the Earth Kingdom for Bruma (think Christmas) and encountering mystery and mayhem in addition to some big reveals regarding Imogen’s past. The audiobook is excellent, even after having read the Kindle version. Great stuff!

we learn more

The narrator/reader Hannah Somerville brings this to life. I love the sound effects & different voices and accents. She enhances the author’s work.

The gang from the Water Kingdom (Maple, Imogen, Iggy & et al.) travels to the Earth Kingdom on their way to London for Bruma they are detoured by Horace and monster vine.

Imogen fines more info on her family. Even when she learns the truth, what will she do?

I’m still not happy that Imogen is willing to be the other women.

Overarching story gets a lot of development

I received this book for free, though the review is left of my own accord.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this series and this one is no different in that way. However, this one takes the emphasis off of the murder mystery (it's still present, just not as prominent) and onto the overarching story of Imogen Banks. I wont go into too great of detail because I dont care for spoilers, but I felt like this book moved the series into the latter half of the Harry Potter series. No "Chosen One" type situation, but I think you'll see what I mean if you give this book a read.

This book is also probably the funniest one. I actually laughed out loud at more than one point (especially at Francis).

Hannah Somerville's performance continues to be phenomenal. She's very consistent with the voices and her tone is very pleasing.

I dont have books 5 or 6 yet, so I'll have to keep my eye out for those.

Give this book (series) a shot if you like baking.

Kleenex at the Ready

Erin Johnson made me cry this time. She just gets better and better with each book! Imogene was adopted as an infant by a nonmagical family. Will she ever learn her true heritage? The short answer is yes, in a roller coaster ride that will have you sobbing at the end. Each book builds on the prior one, so read them in order. I couldn’t stop listening!!

While traveling to the Earth Kingdom for winter holidays, Imogen and her friends are forced to make a detour to a too perfect small and rural village. Can they solve the mysterious murders without been in danger themselves? Imogem will finally discover the truth from her past, but will this truth really help her?
