Publisher's summary

The Baxter family once ran airboat tours in the Florida Everglades; life was simple and good. Everything changed with the black rain. It tainted the Earth, setting in motion a true zombie apocalypse.

Most dogs died after the pitch fell from the sky. So did the alligators and crocodiles, but the ancient reptiles did not rest for long. Instead, they awoke hungry, falling in to feed beside the hordes of reanimated humanity.

Now Cole Baxter, his sister, Lilly, and Dr. Georgina Lake are avoiding the predators on shore, instead traveling on a small yacht off the coast of Florida. Their only hope is to follow the voice of Micky Rode, a former classic rock disc jockey. They’ve suffered losses and have seen terrible, impossible things.

Rode’s plan is to gather survivors in Lebanon, Kansas, before embarking on a search for the chief of the Henomawi Tribe, Climbing Fox Wattana. They must force him to reverse the curse he claims to have set in motion.

Hundreds of miles of dangerous ocean and unprotected roadways lay before CB and his family and friends on their journey to Kansas. The trip will be treacherous; the outcome, uncertain. No matter. To find out if Rode’s plan stands a chance, they must get there first. Alive.

Interesting take on a zombie apocalypse

This series has some ideas in it that for me were fresh and interesting. The characters are likable and engaging and the story flows well. I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Great book! loved the characters!

Convergence may be better than the first one, as hard as that is to believe. The characters are interesting, funny and just good people. And crossing the gulf is interesting.

It was so good before the author killed it.

I really liked this story at first before it would switch to the Native American guy. It would go to him and go on and on and on about nothing dealing with the main characters and the author made the Native American talk in a very weird way. I don't know about the author but, any Native I talked to, did NOT talk like that. They talked like a normal person. It was almost like the trash people in the Walking Dead. Threw the whole thing off and just seemed like the author was trying to just fill in empty space for the book which to me, killed the whole book.
Along with the switching to the radio guy. Like.....Who the f*** cares? Why would anyone care about the life story of the radio guy and him saying he rides a Oil-Leak Machine- I mean, Harley when he really rides a crotch rocket. Like, really? What did that have to do with the main story?
