Insightful, Applied, and Inspiring

Teresa’s book stands on the shoulders of previous publications so it might be unfair to say this, but it’s the best book available for Product Management. Not only is it good theory, but Teresa includes very practical advice I wish I had thought of a decade ago.

Dives head first into the least documented part of Product Management

This is one of the most insightful books on Product Management I have read. While other books pay lip service to customer research and prioritization, Teresa describes very actionable ways to put them in place at virtually any organization.

Teresa’s narration is engaging and clear, and the book structure lends itself well to the audio format. For example, reach chapter is relatively short and ends with a summary and “common anti-patrerns” which help solidify the concepts learned.

I have both the physical copy (for quick referencing) and audible narration, and have already started gifting this book to others.

The title is confusing. Great content inside.

To me this book feels like the 2nd half of "The Lean Startup" (another confusing title) and is just about as exciting provides a great deal of clarity and fine tuning with methods that have been oversimplified or bastardized (like the term MVP).

Also, I'm reminded of flipping things around for a more accurate picture. For example "The customer does not want a quarter inch drill. They want a quarter inch hole.“

Some years ago I learned the difference between features and benefits. Features are in the product. Benefits are in the customer's mind.

As Teresa points out, in software, the customer does not want your product, they want what they can do with your product. "I got my taxes done!"

This book has earned a couple more reads from me, so get your own.

As an interaction designer, I expect this will help use outputs to create OUTCOMES. I just beed the other two in my trio.

OUTCOMES! OUTCOMES! OUTCOMES!

"It's not a car, it's a driving experience."

Very interesting instrument each product manager should have

I liked structure and the author reading the book. A bit hard to remember all the information from the book, but if there was a narrative about a hero along the book would help me to keep in mind what came when

A great system for how to build great products

Love that the book is short. Everything that’s communicated is necessary and useful. The book walks through how to do customer discovery and translate it into great products including hypothesis testing.
