Where do we come from? Who created us? Why are we here? These questions have puzzled us since the dawn of time, but when it became apparent to Jon Stewart and the writers of The Daily Show that the world was about to end, they embarked on a massive mission to write a book that summed up the human race: What we looked like; what we accomplished; our achievements in society, government, religion, science, and culture - all in a lavishly produced audiobook of approximately 200 minutes.
After two weeks of hard work and nights in the recording studio, they had their audiobook. Earth (The Audioook) is the definitive guide to our species. With their trademark wit, irreverence, and intelligence, Stewart and his team will posthumously answer all of life's most hard-hitting questions, completely unburdened by objectivity, journalistic integrity, or even accuracy.
Read by Jon Stewart, the Daily Show correspondents, and featuring a special performance by Sigourney Weaver.

Stupid, yet educational, all at the same time. Hillarious. Narrated by Jon Stewart as only he can do, along with a cast of others.. Silly, but worth the listen...
Tell us about yourself! I am a 43 year old wanna be intellect. I love people doing things for me and i guess that includes my reading! My interests vary widely so this site is right up my alley....maybe too much so!!!
John Colberts book even though Stewart makes Colbert look silly his quality is far better and less diatribe
The alien faqs....HILARIOUIS
No but could have done so on a trip....it certainly keeps your attention
Jon Stewart makes you think without making you feel like its a chore, I do wonder how many times I forget that the issues he addresses are real and serious. Thanks to Jon and his staff he never lets the humor get in the way of the point and vice versa the seriousness of the ideas presented don't get in the way of our humanity and ability to laugh at ourselves....even when we should be embarassed as he*l
It was well worth my time. It's like the Daily Show, so if you don't like the Daily Show, you will probably not like this book. Just a reminder of how things are right now. Like the absurdity.
Like he is literally talking to you.
Laugh out loud so many times I can't count.
So glad I bought this book. I've listened to it 3 times.
It's funny. But it's sort of the same thing over and over again. It stops being fresh after awhile. When you start out as good as Jon Stewart, then getting a bit redundant isn't inherently bad or boring. It's light. It's fun in small doses.
Like title of my review said, If you like the Daily Show, you will enjoy the audiobook. If you are not a John Stuart fan, then skip it. My only complaint is that I wish this audio book had been a little longer.
This is a book that is best when listened to. John Stuart is as funny as ever, no T.V. screen needed for this. Sigourney Weaver reading the chapter titles is just an added bonus!
"America the Book" was fantastic, so I wasn't sure they could follow it up with the same wit and social insight. But they did. Earth is clever throughout, and they get most of the Daily Show cast involved in the audio book. And the writing is fantastic as always. It's amusing and insightful - satire at its best.
Comedy at its best. Sharp and insightful from the same people who write and perform on the Daily Show. Sometimes veers off wildly but the punches keep on coming. As a satire about the world we live in today it is never dull but sometimes preaches to the choir. Great voice acting from Stewart & co. Standout performances from Jason Jones and John Oliver as always.
It was entertaining, fiction is not my cup of tea most days..
The World until Yesterday: What can we learn from traditional societies?
They were what made it funny. None individual stood out but as a cast they were a laugh.
A movie no. A TV series? Only if it were more like a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy tv show.
Stupid. I am a regular watcher of the daily show, and I generally like it. The book was dumb though. It was dumb statements about the world I already knew, boringly simplistic. Really? Aliens are taking over our planet after its destruction, so here a bit of background on it....
There were a few jokes here and there. Most of it was heard it before, ha we're obnoxious human type stuff
