It's anything but Grimm when the Tell 'Em Steve Dave crew gives their hilarious takes on some of the best and least known fairy tales.
Join Bryan Johnson, Brian Quinn and Walt Flanagan with special guest Sunday Jeff as they create a magical world of fantasy and wonder, trolls, living plants, and sinful dwarves. It doesn't get any better than this...or funnier.
Not for children but definitely for those who are a child at heart.

After listening to this I wanted nothing more than to forget I'd ever 'been' with any other audiobook. I'll forever regret and lament that I hadn't stayed pure and let TESD Fair-re-re tale theater take my audiobook virginity.
Compare it to another book? You're kidding, right? Why not compare the sun to a match? The finest French wine to fetid Florida swamp water? What a ponderous request you make!
Bry, Walt, Q, and Sunday Jeff....are Seraphim. Their voices are second only to God's own.
I challenge anyone to employ an alternate solution. The credits alone are superior to the content in total of every other audiobook ever published.
I'm starting a Kickstarter project to fund the resculpting of Mount Rushmore in the images of Bry, Walt, Q, & Sunday Jeff. Have four men ever held such sway over the collective attitude and mindset of an entire nation? I think not.
These men are extraordinary.
These men are unique.
These men transcend the divine.
Just kidding. They're lil ol ants just like the rest of us.
Anybody can simply read words on a page and try to add character voices, but Tell 'Em Steve Dave went well past that providing insight and commentary into some classic fairy tales. You won't get just the "what" here, you'll get hilarious opinions on the "why".
In my top 5, and I have thousands of audio books, hundreds on Audible alone.
Depends on which part... Bry, Q, Walt equally shine at various points.
The subtext of fairy tales explored by the modern thinking person.
Truly a great work of art, and a great introduction to anyone that has not yet discovered the podcast, Tell 'Em SteveDave
Yes hella funny
When they go off story as bull sh-t back and forth
We need more tell em Steve dave
One of the best by far.
Sunday Jeff always steps up!
Walt reaching back out to the dwarf community by praising the females for giving birth to a full sized child.
As a fan of the podcast and TV show, it's no surprise I loved every minute of this audio book. Maybe not something you can drop into out of the blue without knowing them, but a hilarious romp through the creep world of faerie tales.
Solid storytelling with perfect comedy. Tell'em Steve Dave has done it again! Great for anyone!
All of them
Laughed out loud constantly
This is a hilarious spin on terrible old public domain fairy tales. The usual TESD humor makes these stories listenable.
I couldn't say what you could compare it to, but I can say that it won't disappoint.
These tales as written would make an awful, awful read. Tired, dried up, irrelevant. Bry and crew make it perfectly acceptable for a 32 year old man to listen to fairy tales again.
I'll tell you this, by 35 minutes in I was laughing so hard I was crying.
You'll love it, I'm sure.
Time and again. I can't wait to hear what I missed the first time around.
The gusto! Oh!
"BETTER THAN MAKIN' HAY!"
Tell 'em, Steve-Dave!
Its impossible to say which amazing part of this book was the best
Nothing else compares to this book, period.
Yes, and its right up there with Making Hay and The Pod Wars
It made me laugh so hard I cried
Well worth every penny I paid
This is the number one best book on Audible. Its amazing
All of it.
These's guys are comedy Gods
these's guys are he most innovative podcaster around. All the other podcasts do commercials for audible. There the only ones making books for there audible commercials.
"Sunday Jeff is god."
Best I've ever listened to
I would compare this audio book to the bible because TESD is a religion and Walt will save the world...
all of it.
I urinated a little.
Stacy Patella doesn't really exist.
"Buy this now!!"
Tell 'Em Steve-Dave Fair-re-re Tale Theater ranks very high among all audiobooks i have listened to so far.
Its full of really intresting storys and its very well produced.
EVERY SCENE! its a must have for anyone who listens to Tell 'em steve-dave.
what? who cares
nah, well accept buy this because its worth the money.
"A great introduction to TESD"
Bry, Walt, Q and Flutter
nothing quite like TESD
Nothing it was great as expected
check out the podcast
"A solid, if a little unfocused, attempt"
Well, I'm not sure how I can compare this to Learning German: Volume 1 (the other half of my audiobook collection), but if I had to choose I would say that Tell Em Steve Dave was slightly more entertaining if a little more incomprehensible.
Hell yeah. It's Tell Em Steve Dave, and as long as the boys keep makin' em, I'll keep listening. Hopefully any further audiobooks will be a little more polished and coherent though.
Compared to their regular podcasts? I'd say this is above par for the course.Walt and Q put a lot of effort into these special outings, and it's noticeable. My only complaint would be that while on their ordinary podcasts going off-topic is fine, often even welcome, with set pieces like this I think a little more structure and preparation would go a long way.
Nothing moves me since the accident.
The joy of listening to the friends dissecting classic tales of everyone's childhood was fantastic
All of them
"Excellent introduction to TESD."
I will definitely keep this audiobook to listen to again, I love the Tell 'Em Steve-Dave podcast, and this is a hilarious companion piece to the show.
"TESD re-tells the tales of yore"
Fun, Sweary, Hilarious
Anything that featured Walt Flanagan's creepy voicing :)
Yes, and then listened to again straight after
This is a TESD production. That's all you need to know, really. The guys examine some of the old fairy tales in depth, and give the usual TESD spin on those tales, and just make you smile for the duration of the book. This isn't a one listen and done book. You'll come back to this one again and again and again.
Yes, it made me laugh start to end.
Walt really stole the show for me, he puts the best voices on and picks perfect timing to make comments.
His chocolatey voice (shout out Bry - good luck for Talking Bad)
It made me laugh a lot, and I was moved to tears when the Goat did that thing with the stop... or whatever that part was.
Download it, Listen to it, it's hysterical - I promise (also listen to Tell 'em Steve Dave)
I love the podcast and I've bought all the other bonus stuff they've ever done. The last Christmas one is fantastic. This is not. From the description it sounds like maybe they're going to read a fairy tail they've rewritten but that doesn't happen. They seem to just halfheartedly joke about fairy tales for ages then get defensive about what they've done. The only review you need is the last 10 minutes of the book. Spend your free credit on something you might actually enjoy.
