Publisher's summary

Every mortal who works at network headquarters knows that vampires reside below them. They were the first to surrender to the powerful Immortal Guardians who hunt them. And they did so, hoping they can be saved, that the doctors and scientists the Immortal Guardians employ can halt the progressive brain damage that robs all vampires of their sanity. Though curious, Emma never thought she would meet any of the vampires who remain under heavy guard several stories beneath her office. Then mercenaries strike, bombarding the building with heavy artillery. The vampires are freed to join the fray...and Cliff saves her life.

From that moment on, she can't stop thinking about him. When Emma discovers a way to speak to Cliff at network headquarters, she becomes even more fascinated by him. He's smart, charming, and honorable to his core despite the darkness that lies ahead. And he seems to crave her company as much as she does his. Aware of the eyes that watch them, they keep their encounters innocent, limiting them to those of mere acquaintances. Nevertheless, their attraction grows, and she soon falls in love with him even as the madness begins to claim him. Will the two of them find a way to defy the odds and find their happily-ever-after? Or will Cliff's descent consume him?

Contains mature themes.

Cliffs Descent is a fabulous heart wrenching story

What a wonderfully sad story. I wondered how this vampires story could be done. Diane Duvall did not disappoint. She weaves the story around other books masterfully and does not leave anything out. Everyone who reads this series becomes fully invested in the lives of the characters Dianne created. Cliffs story has been an important part of the immortal guardian world and we were all hoping he would overcome his heartbreaking future. We love Cliff even more. Bravo Kirsten Potter and Dianne Duvall of course.

Wow, Really had me going

I would have to say that Cliff's Descent is now my favorite Diane Duval book in this series. I almost thought I'd already listened to it because so much of it was familiar. Then I realized Cliff has been a major character in every books since Bastian in The Immortal Guardians series.
I'm very proud of Cliff because he shows not only internal fortitude but a strength of character that few people demonstrate; especially under his circumstances. With true friends and true love, he battled his condition for over 6 years when others gave up the fight in 3 or less.
For a minute in chapter 27 I thought I'd be writing a very different review about this book but chapter 28 renewed my faith to never ever give up.

Love this book

I love the Immortal Guardians series. But this one touched my soul. Book 11 made me cry and there are very few books that move me to tears.

Love Cliff and Emma!

This is a beautiful love story that really did a great job of taking us through Cliff’s internal struggles. It was nice to have a book from the vampire’s perspective. I really enjoyed the interactions between Cliff and Emma, as well as the other supporting characters. Narration was great as usual! I’m going to have to listen to the entire series again! I just love these stories!

Cliff

I have waited for this book for so long. I hoped the very best for Cliff. This book was really hard to listen to with all of the turmoil Cliff was going through. I so look forward to more of Cliff in the future …. I mean if he has one. Enjoy 😉

Yessss!!!

Clif gets his ending. I didn't want to listen at first because I knew how it would end but now I'm glad I did. Great addition to the IG series. Great narration as usual. Loved it.

Love it!!!!

The much anticipated story for Cliff was well worth the wait. I am somewhat torn but not torn. But bottom line all of Dianne Duvall’s books are worth reading and re-reading. So again thank you for the wonderful world of the IG’s. You totally rock. And Kirsten Potter is the best narrator for this series hands down!!!
