Great Intro to Graham Greene

Colin Firth brings life into his performance and found myself going back on more than one occasion to listening to parts over.
Colin Firth cannot take all the credit as Graham Greene shows he was a master storyteller.
Not only is he a master storyteller, but did you read that first sentence? Clearly, Graham Greene is an excellent writer too.
The End of the Affair has unique characters that you learn to love and hate and I listen avidly to the repercussions of their choices. The End of the Affair is an excellent introduction into the writings of Graham Greene and will leave the reader wanting more.

Worth listening to

My first Graham Greene. It might come across as little old fashioned, but it was also thought-provoking and interesting, worth the listen.

This book rambled on and on and on. I kept listening because I thought it was going to go somewhere......NEVER DID!!

Colin Firth narration was excellent!

What does Colin Firth bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Collin added much more feelings and emotions than if I had read the book. I enjoyed Collin's narration.

Turn it off and go to sleep.

Colin Firth is Brilliant

Until now I’ve never given an especially glowing review of a narrator. Usually, unless the performance is distractingly poor I tend to focus on the story itself. This is an exception. In this case, I doubt if I would’ve enjoyed this story as much had I only read the book. Firth’s performance of The End of the Affair is hauntingly beautiful. The story is elevated by his tragic, heartbreaking, subtle & smart portrayals.

Loved it! Intriguing and well written story.

Colin Firth was an excellent narrator. The story was about the fragility of The Human Condition. Tender. Inspiring. Raw. It is like we are voyeurs into the truth of the human condition ir priests in the confessional listening to secrets that noone dares to speak aloud.

depressing

Great narrator, of course, always like to hear Colin Firth. But Graham Greene is always depressing, including this one. It was more interesting later than earlier, but depressing throughout.

Unequaled narration of a powerful, haunting work.

Colin Firth’s narration is superb. This narrative might have been much less compelling in anyone else’s hands. Firth’s reading of it places you at Greene’s side as the story unfolds, and the characters become so real they will haunt you. You might never see the world in the same way ever again.

Rather Depressing

The protagonist wallows in self pity, while Sara, his obsession, argues with God. Rather slow and internal.

End of the Affair

It was okay, I did enjoy Colin Firth's reading, his voice was elegant and very easy to listen to. The book was okay, I may give Graham Greene a second chance.
